Java Application Developer, Regulatory Reporting Technology, Associate

As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You'll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You'll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what's being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you'll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
  • Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages

  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
  • Develop code that conforms to the design, addresses non-functional requirements, and complies with the coding standards and conventions.
  • Create detailed Unit Test cases, perform unit testing, integration testing, support QA and User acceptance testing and also address ad hoc user queries.
  • Closely work with and understand the business and non-business requirements from the users and document the technical specifications.
  • Ensure that best practices are followed throughout the development lifecycle and ensure high quality delivery during all phases of the SDLC.
  • Develop functional knowledge (in addition to technical skills) to become a techno-functional developer.
  • Collaborate with regional and global team members from other regions.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of developing complex Java enterprise applications in medium to large scale projects.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of J2EE technology stack.
  • Good working knowledge of SQL.
  • Good understanding of automated testing frameworks like Fitnesse.
  • Hands-on experience on Pentaho ETL tool.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience of working in agile teams.
  • Experience in investment banking domain.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum guidance.

Desirable (but not essential):
  • Experience in Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Exposure to Big Data technologies.
