SGX is looking to establish a Centralised Services Unit (CSU) for Finance functions to subsidiaries located primarily in Europe and the US. As part of this effort, SGX is seeking a Project Director, based in Singapore, on a 2-year contract to drive the implementation of the CSU and to achieve : (1) Building a CSU delivery model fit for the SGX Group; (2) Managing the migration of activities, putting governance, processes including SAP functions and standardization in place; (3) Embedding end-to-end processes and process ownership; (4) Influencing and managing key stakeholders ranging from internal to external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partnering with senior stakeholders within SGX and its subsidiaries to identify opportunities and build buy-in for the centralisation and/or outsourcing of Finance activities across the subsidiaries
  • Defining an effective, sustainable and scalable delivery model for the CSU
  • Work with SGX finance and lead the transition of activity to the CSU and/or outsourced partners, balancing the pace of transition with management of risk and change
  • Building capability, upskilling and enhancing capabilities and performance of the CSU
  • Owning the business case for consolidating, upgrading or implementing major new systems in support of CSU operations
  • Manage the commercial relationships between SGX, its subsidiaries and the CSU and/or outsourcing partners
  • Establish and oversee key metrics to ensure the CSU and/or outsourcing partners are operating at a level expected by SGX and its subsidiaries, and in compliance with SGX group policies and regulations

Key Requirements

  • Relevant degree and extensive experience (at least 10 years) of defining and leading the transition of Finance activities to a shared services centre and/or to an outsourcing partner
  • Track record of delivering strategic-level changes with the ability to generate commitment to change across a broad group of stakeholders and deliver against multi-year plans
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to build rapport and influence a range of internal and external, technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven leadership skills in managing teams across multiple locations and experience of leading multi-workstream and change management projects
  • Ability to operate both at the strategic and detailed level
  • Strong level of general business acumen, conceptual thinking and proactivity in identifying and addressing future challenges and opportunities in a complex environment
  • Self-starter with an affinity for using technology to drive efficiencies and enhance service delivery
