The Role Responsibilities
  • Ensure efficient and effective project financials reporting, costs management, resource allocation and vendor management
  • Confirm all financial data in the Bank's project management tool are aligned with stakeholders' expectations
  • Manage and coordinate performance reporting, budgeting and forecast processes
  • Facilitate timely and accurate manday and non-manday cost entries, actual vs. forecast variances reviews and reporting
  • Track progress with work orders and statement of work with third party service providers and validate invoices for payment
  • Comply with internal / external finance and resource reporting requirements / standards
  • Respond to internal / external queries of a finance and / or resource utilisation nature
Strategy
  • Assist with the financial plan setup and on-going maintenance in the project management tool for success
  • Ensure all financial artefacts delivered are of sufficient quality and accuracy fit for internal and external consumption
  • Establish robust financial management practices for information accuracy and transparency
  • Awareness and understanding of the strategies and deliverables
  • Communicate financial performance to key stakeholders in alignment with the project management plan
Business
  • Work in close partnership with Finance and PMO team to produce timely and accurate financial numbers
  • Create materials for monthly performance management reviews
  • Understand cost data and key drivers of performance for the programme and/or projects
  • Identify and articulate the key cost messaging to support management reviews
  • Ensure the timely & accurate delivery of all cost reporting, including commentary, and forecast
  • Work with PMO team to build storylines around trends and drivers, in line with project progress
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills, while analysing drivers and investigating movements in the cost process.

  • Provide timely and accurate reporting to appropriate committees
  • Ensure appropriate oversight and facilitate resolution of high impact risk and issues
  • Awareness and understanding of the accounting policies under which the UK and the Group operates.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Min. 10 years proven financial management abilities with a strong understanding of project cost accounting for software development.
  • Significant subject matter understanding and experience of cost analytics & reporting.
  • Good handle on processes associated with General Ledger, Accounts Payable & Purchase Orders to support queries, accruals and journals.
  • Attention to detail and record keeping.
  • Ability to turn around time sensitive numbers and reports with accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while delivering high quality output to senior management.
  • Experienced and comfortable with managing large data-sets and who has experience with data visualisation to be able to provide data insights.
  • Knowledge of the businesses, markets and operations of Standard Chartered Bank and relevant policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Excellent senior stakeholder engagement and management skills.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at appropriate level ensuring open cooperative environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; a strong self-starter with natural intellectual curiosity; an ability to think both strategically and analytically and apply these skills into meaningful outcomes.
  • Change and programme experience, ideally gained in the financial industry.
Qualification
  • Qualified accountant
  • Certifications in PMO, Project and/or Change Management desirable
