Senior Manager, OCIR Regulatory & Communications

The purpose of the role is to manage internal and external communication for the Operational Continuity in Resolution function. The role-holder will work closely with all parts of the OCIR team and stakeholders across the Group to coordinate internal and external communications, including regulatory engagement, for OCIR.
Regulatory Communications
  • Create, maintain, execute OCIR Regulatory Engagement plan
  • Support Head, OCIR and OCIR team leads to plan, coordinate & prepare for regulatory engagements:
    • Biannual Crisis Management Group of regulators (2 meetings a year)
    • Biannual bilateral meetings with 8 Crisis management Group regulators (16 meetings a year)
    • Ongoing Working Groups with Bank of England & PRA (6-8 meetings a year)
    • Ad-hoc regulatory meetings
  • Support Country Management Teams & Compliance to prepare for ad-hoc local regulatory engagements
  • Coordinate OCIR response to/support for ad-hoc spot checks and inspections by regulators
  • Work with SCB Compliance and Group Treasury teams to ensure OCIR team are kept up-to-date with regulatory developments in RRP, OCIR, FMIs, Resilience and related areas
  • Coordinate with Group and Country Reg Compliance teams, RRP, and other stakeholders to ensure consistency, clarity, and accuracy of regulatory communications relating to OCIR & FMIs

Internal Communications
  • Create, maintain, execute OCIR Communications & Training plan
  • Support Head, OCIR to plan, coordinate and prepare for internal engagements with PGCs, FORCs and other internal governance forums
  • Coordinate across OCIR team and other stakeholders to ensure consistency, clarity, and accuracy of reporting and other internal communications relating to OCIR & FMIs
  • Maintain OCIR profile and content on the SCB Bridge site
  • Create, maintain, deliver OCIR training materials:
    • Annual Country Management Team training
    • E-learning/online trainings
    • OCIR introductory video training
  • Coordinate & maintain internal training & communication material for new joiners to OCIR team

Knowledge & Skills
  • Subject matter expertise in Recovery & Resolution Planning and Operational Continuity in Resolution
  • In-depth understanding of Standard Chartered Group's Businesses, footprint, and operating model
  • Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across Businesses, Functions and Countries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to express complex ideas simply and create compelling storylines
  • Strong analytical skills to combine and manipulate large, complex data sets
  • Expert MS Office skills - particularly Excel and PowerPoint
