Our client is a globally leading provider of proprietary over the counter pricing information, Their market data is independent, unbiased and non-position influenced. We are looking for a product manager who can define, develop and maintain a rolling 5 year strategic plan including estimated P&L impact for the Global Broking sourced data products.

Job Duties:

  • Define, develop and maintain a rolling 5 year strategic plan including estimated P&L impact for Global Broking sourced data products.
  • Responsible for ensuring P&L delivery of products and reporting on performance
  • Undertake and manage a Global Data Inventory Assessment of all systems including platforms, whiteboards, messaging/communication, surveillance and monitoring, technology and processes used to facilitate or support the end-to-end broker workflow.
    • pre-trade discovery including eBroking platform data,
    • trade work-up including whiteboard/priceboard systems and associated analytics,
    • client flow publication processes,
    • price dissemination systems,
    • operations including trade capture confirmation and processing,
    • client communication systems including voice, chat, email,
    • surveillance and monitoring systems
    • CRM and client query management
    • Web publishing services such as Fusion or Options.Com
  • Produce a plan from the inventory which identifies and prioritises on a desk by desk basis down to sub-asset class level new opportunities to monetise data including any private and/or internal pages.
  • Build and deliver on a global basis, consistent data offerings extracting all potential revenue value from the following areas including but not limited to:
    • All pre-trade order information
    • All indicative data
    • All post-trade data
    • All alternative data sets built from; correlation matrices, voice recorded data, instant/chat messages, sentiment, client query information, traded volumes, and market surveillance statistics
  • Procure data from all new broking desks globally
  • Define and implement a strategy, working with compliance to take over all EOD and Reval broker publications. Ensure ALL external publication of data from the firm is channelled via Data & Analytics
  • Work with the other Product Managers including; Indices, Commodities and Energy, Regulatory, Risk and Alternative Data specialists to build a series of revenue generating products dependent on Global Broking data.
  • Maintain relationships with senior Global Broking managers, Managing Directors and Desk Heads.
  • Work with the Implementation team to drive improvements to, and maintain existing products on the firms databases, including:
    • Product specifications
    • Technical requirements for developers
    • End to end product deployment
    • Customer publications
    • Data presentation on third party platforms
  • Work with Group Marketing to oversee regional/global marketing activities, including:
    • Data & Analytics product newsletter (periodic basis)
    • Represent the company at industry conferences
    • Feedback in to product based marketing collateral (website, inventory…)
  • Devise structured ‘Go-To-Market’ strategy for new product releases or initiatives.
  • Help drive process and operational improvements both locally and throughout the firm.
  • Identify and progress strategic initiatives with potential 3rd party data sources.
  • As a senior member of staff you are expected to demonstrate leadership and guidance to junior colleagues of how to escalate any issues which may arise.


Risk Responsibilities

  • Ensure that you understand the risks and controls on your department; what could go wrong, what controls you have to prevent/detect or contain these.

  • Ensure that you and your staff engage appropriately with the Risk team to ensure the effective implementation of all risk management processes. Provide input to these processes if requested (for example Risk and Control Self-Assessment process, scenario analysis, ‘Deep Dive’ reviews and any others, as required);
  • Receive and review management information (MI) relating to breaches and trends; take these into account when reviewing conduct
  • Report all events and breaches where there has been a failure to adhere to policies and controls to the Compliance function
  • Escalate risk events immediately and log them within 24 hours using the risk event capture form on the intranet

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a real time market data environment (either buy-side or sell-side)
  • Proven product management experience in financial services and bringing revenue generating products to market
  • Understanding in the use of OTC data within the financial markets, including the instruments required for the various businesses
  • Strong communication skills within a brokerage environment
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated
  • Comfortable in representing the firm at events and seminars
  • Creative and commercially savvy.  Can envision and interpret upcoming industry trends and position the product with emerging needs.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent work experience
