About the Role

You will be part of service delivery improvement initiative; a SWAT team is being formed to uplift the resilience of critical healthcare IT systems. This team will comprise of two Senior Technical Analysts (as described in the rest of this document) and two database leads (DBA's).

The Team

The SWAT team members will work with the existing application support and infrastructure teams to understand the pain points and gaps. The SWAT team will also be called on during outages, to assist with troubleshooting and workarounds.

We are looking for people who want to grow in DevOps, and also enjoy troubleshooting and making things work again.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

The task of the Senior Technical Analyst is to review, automate, and improve existing procedures required for resilience, such as housekeeping, error detection, failure detection, recovery steps, shakedown testing steps and/or performance tuning.

 

The Senior Technical Analysts perform the following duties:

  • Work with the application and infrastructure teams to identify gaps and pain points
  • Develop the overall approach for solving these problems, and work with the teams to agree on priorities, work scope and schedule
  • Develop and test the scripts to automate housekeeping, error detection, shakedown testing, and performance tuning
  • Teach the existing application and infrastructure teams how they should use, maintain and manage these scripts
  • Troubleshooting and performance tuning
  • Put together an overall framework of reusable scripts, assessments and troubleshooting

Requirements

The Senior Technical Analyst should have experience in most of the following areas:
  • Basic experience in Development with minimum 5 years total experience
  • Recent experience in a similar role (such as, but not limited to: Quality Systems Engineering, Application Systems Engineering, Cyber Reliability or as a Technical Architect)
  • Relevant certifications are beneficial - particularly certification with .NET or Java systems
  • A passion to learn and drive efficiencies, such as automation
    AND at least one of the following: (1) Extensive scripting for systems level tasks, OR, (2) Performance troubleshooting and tuning at least one of application / middleware / infrastructure 31
