Senior tax analyst, APMEA Tax

Overview

This position is responsible for organizing and supporting the tax compliance work related to the APMEA region ("the region"). The position will support the regional and global tax teams to ensure that tax risks well managed in a region with different tax systems, levels of sophistication and business environment.

Role

• Responsible for tax provision and statutory compliance activities which include the following key areas:
o Ensuring a robust process is in place for partnering the Finance function in the timely completion of tax provisions;
o Working with the Finance function and external consultants for the timely completion and filing of tax returns and other compliance requirements where opportunities are optimized and tax risks areas are adequately addressed;
o Prepares tax accounting under US GAAP including tax provision and tax reserves (ASC 740 and ASC 740-10) for both interim and annual periods; and
o Assist in the management of tax audits and development of strategies in closing the audits that is in the best interests of the Company.
• Be part of tax planning projects and M&A.
• Maintaining SOX documentation and ensuring internal controls.
• Assist in providing information required for the completion of certain international tax aspects of the US tax returns.
• Provide support in gathering adequate and accurate data for analysis and decision making.
• Managing the contracting and invoicing process of external advisors.

All About You

• Good general accounting skills. Knowledge of US GAAP will be an advantage.
• Comfortable working with ERP systems and data analytics software. Experience with Oracle is a plus.
• Requires good analytical skills to assist in understanding the business background, identifying the potential tax risk/opportunity areas, mapping out different options, evaluating the pros and cons of each option in support of making the final recommendation.
• Experience working with large data sets, synthesizing large amounts of information and summarizing insightful findings.
• Competent in Microsoft office software.
• Some tax experience in public accounting and/or industry. Candidates with a strong accounting background will also be considered.
• Fast learner and ability to work independently and reliably to complete tasks on a timely basis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive working attitude.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Able to travel 10% of the time.
