Microsoft 365 Techno-Functional Program Manager & Consultant - Cognizant Digital Business Interactive
Goal: Guide the process of planning and designing the required IT capabilities of an enterprise to meet desired organizational objectives. In addition, play multiple roles, respectively those of techno-functional consultant, program / delivery lead and a liaison to the customer to ensure business requirements are seamlessly mapped to a functioning enterprise solution, ensure end-to-end delivery, execution, and client satisfaction. This technical side of the role is associated with expansive consultation on architecting, building, and delivering various content management and digital collaboration solutions on platforms including Microsoft 365 (SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Search, etc.) and Documentum. The functional side of the role requires vast experience in delivering large, global programs; expertise of various pharma and life science specific processes, including GxP relevant processes for development, manufacturing, and commercial areas; knowledge of corporate processes in the areas of ethics, risk, compliance and communications. Capability to drive portfolio growth with strong governance.


• Manage and deliver large engagements by acting as the face of Cognizant for the customer
• Engage with senior IT and business stakeholders to understand their needs and consult on enterprise-wide solutions
• Own and design the end-to-end architecture of large, global systems
• Leverage technical and domain thought leadership to drive transformational conversations with customers
• Actively look for opportunities and leads and ensure increase in year-over-year growth of the portfolio
• Liaise with other 3rd party vendors to evaluate their offerings and own on-boarding of their products into the customer's IT landscape
• Solicit client feedback through ongoing informal conversations and regular engagement reviews

Main Tasks / Activities:

• Enterprise Architecture
- Lead the effort, with senior IT stakeholders from the customer, to technically design robust IT systems based on Microsoft 365 and Azure stack
- Identify and integrate different touchpoints between the enterprise solution and other internal systems
- When liaising with other 3rd party product vendors, interact with their architecture teams to gain an understanding of how their products are designed and developed, practices they are following and details of the underlying architecture. Be the first point of contact for any technical questions the vendor has about the customer infrastructure and technology landscape
- Align with architecture, internal security, platform and data privacy teams on technical approach and implications in their areas
- Leverage DevOps to improve efficiency of collaboration between team and release processes
- Support sales teams in estimating, reviewing, and creating solution designs for RFPs from customers
- Capable of self-learning and up to date on new technology trends. Opting for certifications to boost technical know-how

• Techno-functional Consultant
- Deeply understand the business requirements and translate it to working functional flows
- Facilitate design thinking workshops to create feasible and user-focused solutions
- Estimate overall effort, number of resources required, indicative timelines and cost
- Present a compelling proposal detailing out the end-to-end delivery process, along with the timelines and cost
- Provide technical consultation during all phases of the software development lifecycle -implementation, integration and user acceptance tests, go-live and post launch
- Be a liaison between offshore delivery teams and customer SPoC
- Facilitate user acceptance test sessions and ensure timely sign offs
- Support by providing required knowledge transitions to customer support teams and provide white-glove support for hyper care phases

• Program Management & Delivery
- Manage multiple, engagements, as large as $3-4M combined, as a delivery / program lead
- Support offshore delivery teams by removing roadblocks, reviewing customer deliverables, and ensuring quality of the delivered solution
- Identify staffing requirements for engagements, help assess key resource fitness for engagements
- Ensure that the resource plans include the necessary subject matter experts, optimal advantage model and mix between resources
- Act as a single point of contact for any escalations from the customer

• Business Development
- Identify positive leads and growth opportunities and proactively act on them with the vertical leads
- Participate in the development of pre-sales proposals and sales pitches, providing the required inputs for RFPs
- Thought leadership
- Identify improvement opportunities in processes and IT landscape
- Provide ideas and develop POCs demonstrating possible enhancements to existing business processes

Position Requirements:

• Deep understanding of the functioning of Microsoft cloud offerings
• Expertise in the technology landscape and services provided by Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms
• Skilled in overseeing technological, architecture and design decisions and recommending corrective actions, as needed
• Experience in designing and architecting large-scale solutions using SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams and Azure services
• Experience in working with other Microsoft 365 offerings like Yammer, PowerApps, Power Automate
• Knowledge of Azure services viz. app services, virtualization technologies, cognitive services, and backend engines like SQL Server, MongoDB
• Working knowledge of tools and frameworks like SharePoint Framework with React and TypeScript
• Expert in design patterns
• Well-versed in Azure DevOps
• Able in conducting technical reviews and auditing projects to ensure best practices are followed
• Up to date with technology trends that facilitates proposing sustainable design alternatives
• Sound program management skills with experience in handling multi-million-dollar, critical programs
• Ability to manage customer relations, stakeholder management & communications across international engagements with diverse cultural and regional exposure
• Proven experience in working with multi-geo environments, handling employees with multi-cultural backgrounds
• Experience in managing highly distributed teams across multiple locations
• Skilled in Agile methodologies of program execution
• Well versed in managing GxP programs, including knowledge of the processes involvd
• Ability to conduct design thinking workshops with large customer groups
• Strong expertise in structured governance & recovery of troubled programs
• Strong credentials in people management with experience in people development - enablement, coaching and mentoring
• Expertise in domain knowledge of pharma development, manufacturing, and commercial areas. Sound process knowledge of horizontal functions like ethics, risk, compliance, and communications
• Experience in participating in hiring and interviewing processes of technical and managerial profiles
