IT Support Engineer
IT Support Technician

Location: Zurich, Switzerland

Experience level: 4-5 years

English and German is a must

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop a technical understanding of our corporate IT environment so you can effectively support our users
  • Answer to local and remote users' configuration questions and other requests, helping them to solve problems
  • Work together with site managers and developers to guarantee an efficient IT environment for our SW engineers
  • End-user Desktop support through Global IT ticket system
  • Workplace setup, including mounting monitors and setting up docking station
  • Help maintain our DGX-1 farm and the site's IT environment
  • PC/Laptop refresh machine build with Admin duties.
  • Support and maintain AV / Conference rooms
  • Support mobile phone devices and manage inventory
  • Support O365 and Microsoft Teams
  • Provide White Glove Support for Executive in office and in home office.
  • System builds using MDT image system
  • New Hire equipment preparation and conduct on-boarding
  • Asset administration and inventory maintenance: proactively manage assets / refurbish / dispose
  • Network Equipment Room (NER) ownership and tasks such as patching, device mounting
  • Support local team maintaining on-site DGX farm
  • Establish strong 3rd party vendor relationships
  • Procurement duties including sourcing and administration
Experience required:

  • Experience supporting both Windows & Linux environments
  • Solid Windows 7/8/10, Office 2010-2016, Office 365, Android, and Mac experience
  • 4+ years of administration and support of Enterprise Windows environments, analyzing, troubleshooting, resolving issues with Windows computing, application, hardware and networking issues
  • Basic Experience in Networking and Datacenter field
  • Knowledgeable about audio/video setups and current technologies
  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • TCP/IP networking setup and solutions to common configuration problems
  • DNS, NIS, and DHCP administration
  • NFS file sharing and the Linux auto mounter
  • Shell scripting and automation of repetitive administration tasks
  • Ability to work independently and with others to support local, regional, and global teams
  • Manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Work additional hours and travel to alternate field office sites if needed
  • Knowledge of Service Management tools (eg. ServiceNow)
  • Solid understanding of ITIL principles and SLAs
  • Flexible to travel within or nearby Zurich to provide white glove support in home office.

  • Fluent English Speaker and local language skills (Swiss German or German)

  • User application experience in a PC and mobile environment
  • Good all round user support in an global office environment
  • Be familiar with a ticketing system for user requests.
  • Have great personable skills and a good communicator
  • Someone who is helpful with a can do attitude
  • Always willing to learn new things and willing to learn from mistakes
  • Good organization and communication skills
  • Windows PowerShell Scripting
  • NetApp fileserver administration
  • DNS, NIS, and DHCP administration
  • Unix/Windows interoperability and CIFS file sharing
  • 4 plus years of work experience
  • BS degree
