As a Senior Performance Analyst and Cost Controller within the Finance department of BU CH you will be responsible for executing various controlling and reporting tasks for Commercial Insurance Switzerland. You will be working closely with our internal customers and other departments such as actuarial, underwriting and Line of Business Heads. Your role will be to act as a financial expert within P&C Switzerland with focus on Commercial Insurance.

Your Role

As a Senior Performance Analyst and Cost Controller your main responsibilities will involve:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly reports, present and explain results to various stakeholders (e.g. CFO, Head Commercial Insurance, LoB-Heads, etc.)
  • Perform cost budgeting and ensure detailed cost monitoring incl. FTE-Reporting and GFER submissions
  • Ensure a proper and timely monthly closing process in collaboration with other departments and countries (e.g. country analyst, actuarial, accounting)
  • Submit and sign-off monthly results, including explanations and profound business insights
  • Act as a financial expert for the business to provide them with financial insights, help the organization understanding financial metrics and manage the organization based on KPI's
  • Perform full P&L-Planning in close cooperation with the other team members and other involved departments
  • Produce periodical forecasts including gap analysis for costs and P/L items
  • Track and analyze re-insurance cessions
  • Servicing of key stakeholders within the daily business such as Local Underwriting, Underwriting Service, Finance, Actuaries
  • Drive system and process improvements including automatization and standardization of tasks
  • Involvement in projects & initiatives (e.g. IFRS 17 etc.)
Your Skills and Experience

As a Senior Performance Analyst your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
  • University Degree or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in Insurance or Reinsurance business related to Controlling and Reporting, Underwriting, Operations, Accounting or Finance
  • Strong knowledge in MS Office (especially Excel) and SAP
  • IT affinity and MS Access know-how would be appreciated
  • Customer orientated, proactive team player with strong communication skills
  • Passionate and open-minded personality with willingness to learn and develop
  • Strong analytical skills, precise and thorough working style
  • Ability to cope with complexity and solution-oriented personality
  • Good oral and written German and English skills any other language is an asset
Additional Information

Primary work location is Zurich. There might be occasional travel requirements.
