The team is responsible for oversight of third party administrators providing fund accounting services and technical reporting in respect of PRIIPs, MiFID, DWP, LGPS and costs and charges for M&G’s full fund range. Our team is also managing projects from a technical aspect including fund launches, BAU integration and fund mergers / in-species.
The role is to support the oversight of these services to ensure the data provided is technically accurate and in accordance with regulations. It is also to provide advise to projects on the technical aspects of a fund launch from a fund accounting perspective.
The role would suit a technical expert able to provide advice and support on the teams oversight of outsourced fund accounting and other financial information from suppliers. This includes the oversight of the transaction cost calculations for PRIIPs, MIFID etc. and project work ensuring the accuracy of this data delivered by suppliers.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
•Has good product knowledge and understanding of fund types including OEIC, Unit Trust, SICAV, ICAV, Investment Trust, QIF, section 110, LP/GP.
•Fund accounting experience
•Experience of fund launches and closures.
•Experience of working with Third Party Administrators.
•Strong analytical skills. Able to understand, question and challenge a range of financial data
•Experience of financial statutory accounting an advantage.
•Good working knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, IA SORP, Luxembourg GAAP and AIC SORP an advantage.
•Will use their initiative and is able to prioritise
•Has an approachable personality, strong focus and first class communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including presenting at Board meetings.
•Has a regulatory awareness, understanding impact of current and future changes
•Has knowledge and understanding of PRIIPs and MiFID regulations and requirements
•Has an understanding of trade life cycle and investment management processes including transition costs and other operating charges incurred directly and indirectly by investors
•Has an understanding of investment instruments including: equities, fixed Interest, money market, derivatives (futures, options, swaps, CFD, CDS, etc)
•Is self-motivated with a diligent and detailed approach to completing tasks
•Has strong analytical skills. Able to understand, question and challenge a range of financial data and processes
•Has a flexible and proactive approach
•Has Excel (to advanced level is desirable)
•ACA/ACCA qualified accountant (or equivalent) an advantage
