At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose - to help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. And as the UK's largest retail and commercial bank, we have a footprint that touches nearly every community and household in the UK.

Our brands, our services and our business span every aspect of banking and finance, including some of the biggest names on the UK's high streets. That gives us a big responsibility to support the UK economy, and we have a clear strategy to put customers first - and achieve our vision of becoming the best bank for customers.

Insurance and Wealth Customer Delivery (IWCD) provides critical services to the Group's customers, supporting them with their Insurance and Wealth needs. We are responsible for delivering exceptional service to our Life, Pensions and Investments (LP&I), General Insurance (GI) and Wealth customers.

Within IWCD our primary focus is our customers and colleagues. We are passionate about making a difference whilst keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do. We are focused on continuing to improve customer experience, simplifying our business and making IWCD a great place to work for our colleagues.

With the Insurance and Wealth division making significant progress over the past three years, transforming from a 1 Star to a 5 Star business, being awarded Company of the Year at the 2017 Financial Adviser Awards and helping more than 75,000 customers back into their homes after severe weather events last year, 2018 is an exciting time to work within IWCD. With a focus on measuring what is really important to customers through end to end customer journeys, our operations are transforming in order to support the Insurance and Wealth business to meet the needs of our circa 9 million customers every day. With the needs of these customers ever changing, this is an exciting time to be a part of the Insurance and Wealth business.

We currently have a number of opportunities to join our Scottish Widows Protection Underwriting team as a Senior Underwriter. This team provides a comprehensive underwriting service for our customers, and making the right decisions for our Protection customers, is key not only to support business growth and our Protection strategy, but also to ensure we deliver an exceptional customer experience.

You'll need to have previous experience in Life and Disability underwriting, as in this role you'll be responsible for the assessment of Life and Disability applications. As a Senior Underwriter, you'll assess information from relevant sources, such as medical reports, and information provided by applicants. It's a varied and interesting role, where you'll be making decisions on the best possible terms we can offer to our customers.

Your strong written and oral communication skills will be paramount, to enable you to articulate the reasons behind your decisions to both customers and advisors. And you'll need to show care and empathy when liaising with our customers, ensuring you are sensitive to their circumstances.

Whilst not essential, it would be advantageous if you have already achieved the Diploma in Life and Disability Underwriting or Claims qualification.

Insurance & Wealth Customer Delivery is committed to building a diverse workforce where colleagues can be themselves and succeed on merit. We support the principles of agile working and we are currently piloting working from home across our business area and will be looking to roll this out wider on a permanent basis to more colleagues later this year if as expected the pilot proves to be successful for both the business and our colleagues.

In return, as a multi-brand, multi-channel business, we have the scale and breadth to provide you with a diverse range of personal development and a career that's enriching and full of opportunity.

So join us and be part of an inclusive, values-based culture focused on making a difference. Whatever your aspiration, you can also expect excellent benefits, including performance-related bonus, car allowance, private health cover, share schemes and a generous pension contribution, along with the option to choose an additional cash lump sum or pick from a wide range of industry leading benefits.
