Our high profile and award winning VAT group based within our regional offices in the UK focuses on leading clients through the maze of indirect taxes, including VAT, Customs Duties, Excise duties, Environmental Taxes and Insurance Premium Tax.
The indirect tax team in Aberdeen works with a variety of organisations across multiple sectors. The business has been growing steadily year on year and in order to seize the opportunities available in the market, the team requires new talent.
You will obtain a wide range of experience in all the core areas of indirect tax within a variety of markets and industries. The role will focus on a range of compliance and consulting type queries covering a range of supply chain scenarios often spanning more than one tax jurisdiction. In addition, there is a considerable amount of client interaction. We are looking for a highly motivated, ambitious, enthusiastic and hard-working individual who is looking for a challenging career move.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to join EY's specialist Indirect Tax team in our Aberdeen office. The team help support and deliver Indirect Tax advice for their clients across the UK. This role will provide an opportunity to be involved in a growing Indirect Tax team, working across the UK. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work with both clients and EY worldwide offices, providing a great opportunity to build and expand your corporate network.

Your key responsibilities
Your client responsibilities:
- Build and maintain day to day tax relationships with clients and provide high level of client service
- Build relationships both within the firm and externally with clients
- Contribute to team's successful and timely delivery of compliance and advisory tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business driven approach taken
Skills and attributes for success:
- Indirect tax experience and keen to develop further
- Good communicator in range of situations both written and oral
- Ability to apply critical thinking to practical indirect tax problems
- Client focused and commercially aware
- Team player with ability to build effective relationships at all levels
- Project management skills with ability to plan and prioritise work and meet deadlines
