Job Description Summary

This role reports to the Head of Financial Reporting and involves leading a team of c.10 actuaries. The team produce a wide range of internal and external reporting deliverables relating to Scottish Widows' annuity propositions, which include both individual and bulk annuities.

Job Description

Key areas of focus include:

  • Explaining the key drivers of profits and losses to senor stakeholders and business partnering teams.
  • Ensuring compliance with Solvency II Matching Adjustment regulations.
  • Sign-off of results on a range of bases, in particular IFRS and Solvency II.
  • Reporting on longevity swap arrangements.
  • Collateral reporting for bulk annuity schemes.
  • Ownership of models that calculate illiquidity premium and time value of guarantees.

The successful candidate will be expected to drive improvements to processes and team culture. The function is continually striving to reduce the level of manual intervention and increase the time spent on generating insight and developing capability of team members.
