Job Description Summary
Our Finance team have a unique opportunity for a talented Software Engineering Lead to own the design of our future cloud strategy, as we work toward a cloud-based Finance Ledger.

Job Description

This is your chance to help us set up automated tests scripts & build an environment that will automate finance reporting processes, giving our Finance teams' valuable business insight.

You'll also help us build our Bristol based Software Engineering team who together, will successfully deliver the overall technical design and implementation of, a new finance application Aptitude Accounting Hub (AAH), that will enable us to provide a seamless route of data from our Finance Ledgers back to our Product Systems.

Our Software Engineering teams adopt (where we can) the Agile methodology, so you'll work together with your technology peers in architecture, product & DevOps, so you'll need to stay abreast of emerging technologies and actively promote your expertise.

You'll also actively encourage the adoption (and modification) of tech & working practices into the Finance Value Stream.

This will include Dev Ops tooling such as GIT, Jenkins and Urban Code.

We feel this role would be ideal for a certified Aptitude Engineer, or would also suit a talented PL/ SQL Engineer familiar with Oracle databases.

Ideally, you'll also bring strong knowledge or experience of ETL tools or Data Hubs applications or at least financial systems knowledge.

Experience of building & leading small to mid-size Engineering teams would be a great advantage.

Key Accountabilities

•Accountable for the overall technical design and development of all deliverables on the AAH application in line with Architecture Guidance.

•Design and build complex technology solutions in AAH using best in class libraries and design principles

•Assist in design, estimation, planning and implementation of customer user stories requiring IT development

•Design and build AAH solution frameworks following best practices

•Mentor, coach and help develop more junior members of the team

We would like to hear from you, if you have strong engineering knowledge of or experience in:

•PL/SQL

•Financial Applications (Oracle, SAP)

•ETL / Data Hubs

It would be great also, if you had working experience of or within?

•Dev Ops tooling e.g. Jenkins, GIT, Urban Code

•Finance Ledger or sub-ledger knowledge

•An environment that adopts Agile methodology & also have a flexible working approach

•Aptitude Accounting Hub (AAH) application
