The Telecommunications practice operates in the fast moving, diverse and demanding communications industries. The success of these industry sectors depends on many things: the ability to effectively align new technologies with users' buying behaviour, retaining customers' spend, finding new ways to streamline existing operations and continually innovating. Quite a challenge in the face of a shifting regulatory and dynamic competitive landscape. As a Consultant within our practice you will be challenged to help clients transform their business and deliver business-critical programmes of change. As part of PA's expansion in the Telcom space, we are looking to hire an experienced Managing Consultant to be based out of either our head office (London, Victoria) or our Technology Centre (Melbourn, Cambs). The role of Managing Consultant is a key role encompassing both hands on project delivery/management as well as direct business development. This role would suit a technically savvy specialist who enjoys building propositions to solve unmet needs in the telecoms and enterprise networks space, then taking them out to market, securing the business and delivering it. It is truly an end-to-end role.

To do this we would expect you to have strong contacts in the networks/telecom arena and be passionate about leveraging your network and your technical knowledge to develop commercially viable solutions to unmet needs. This is an exciting chance to drive change in the telecom industry through helping vendors, manufacturers and network providers navigate this ever-changing technology space. There is a strong emphasis on solution selling into the UK enterprise space (as opposed to Telco), so you should have exposure to this area preferentially.

Job Requirements
Role specifics
The candidate must have led work-streams and developed innovative propositions in the following types of business assignments:
• Business case & strategy development
• Developing sourcing strategies and leading procurement projects for Managed Network services
• Network planning design and operations
• Vendor management, network service design, development and management
• Network delivery and operations
• OSS and BSS strategy and implementation

Some Key Duties:
• Develop commercially viable propositions and be confident taking them to market
• Design, deliver and lead large scale and complex projects
• Work within mixed consulting and client teams, planning, managing and delivering work
• Develop strategic client relationships, working at the senior levels on high profile work to tight timescales
• Managing project teams (2-10 people) whilst still being actively involved and taking ownership of delivery
• Responsible for quality, profit and project planning

Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills, be customer-focused and be willing to travel on business. In the majority of cases, assignments will be in the UK and Europe and candidates must have exposure to this geographical area. All candidates must be able to demonstrate successful business development skills within the professional services industry
