Software developer Ethical Hacking - Cardiff
PwC is looking to recruit a senior software developer to work within the Ethical Hacking (EH)
team that is part of the Cyber Threat Operations business.
In this role, you will act as the manager, architecture and lead developer for all software
development needs within the EH team. You will work with junior developers to design and
implement a wide variety of projects using an Agile methodology while ensuring that robust and secure software development practices are followed.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in software engineering design and secure coding
practices, and ideally would have demonstrable experience of working within a highly technical
consultative environment. Engaging with end users to fully understand, capture and document
business requirements will also be a key part of the role.
Projects will vary in nature and technology platform but will include implementing custom
malware, security testing tooling, cloud host management systems and Google Suite based
solutions to automate business processes.

Qualifications & Experience
Experience working within secure application design and assurance, as well as in software
development is required. You will have experience identifying, assessing and implementing
solutions for software on desktop platforms, web applications and cloud technology stacks.
• Expert familiarity with multiple programming languages and secure coding practices.
• Familiarity with server and workstations running both Linux and Windows
• Experience in some of MongoDB, NoSQL, JSON, MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres
• Familiarity with cloud hosting solutions and container solutions
• Knowledge of the OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities and SANS Top
• Good knowledge of distributed and microservices architectures
• Managing small teams
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent (preferably 2 1 or higher) in a relevant field
• Awareness of architecture patterns such as TOGAF, SABSA, Zachman is desirable
