The successful candidate will report to the Group Treasury Manager and take ownership of day to day treasury activities.

Treasury Analyst
Colchester (or York) based with flexible working practices

This role presents an excellent opportunity to work in a broad treasury analyst role in FTSE250 Company undergoing treasury transformation project, to develop business partnering and analytical skills as well as to work independently with exposure to senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will report to the Group Treasury Manager and take ownership of day to day treasury activities working within the team of three, including daily liquidity and cash management, bank account management and reporting, along with leading a number of treasury improvement projects and helping establish efficient treasury function.

Successful candidate will be self-driven, motivated team player with a proven track record and have at least three years of hand-on treasury experience.

Key responsibilities:

Work directly with Treasury Manager on treasury improvement projects, including:

  • Short term and medium term cash flow forecasting;
  • Provide analysis of actuals vs forecast, explaining key variances;
  • Provide input in In-house bank design;
  • Cash management improvement projects;
  • Establishing and rolling out treasury key performance indicators and developing relevant reporting;
  • Treasury risk exposure identification and proposal of solutions, including derivatives;
  • Investment in MMF and other short term liquidity solutions;
  • Assist treasury management system implementation;
  • Coordination with other Treasury and Finance colleagues to achieve operational excellence.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Support Business Units and other stakeholders in treasury related matters;
  • Monitor daily cash positions and effectively manage daily cash surplus in treasury management system;
  • Execute treasury, intercompany and other miscellaneous payments;
  • Execute postings in the accounting ledger;
  • Perform bank reconciliations;
  • Coordinate across various departments and manage opening and closing of bank accounts;
  • Ensure timely reporting and regulatory compliance;
  • Maintain strong controls environment within treasury management systems and treasury operations;
  • Liaise with banks to resolve payment, transactional and operational issues.



Person Specification

  • Treasury related experience, preferably in insurance or large multinational company;
  • ACT qualification, or already studying towards is ideal but we will support the attainment for somenone who is passionate about Treasury;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Ability and willingness to learn new systems and processes;
  • 2:1 or above in a relevant degree.
