This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Lead from a product engineering background to drive the successful delivery of a market-leading solution for real-time payment processing. The Technical Lead is responsible for defining, delivering and evolving the technical architecture for a highly scalable, transactional platform capable of processing hundreds of millions of transactions per day.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Lead from a product engineering background to drive the successful delivery of a market-leading solution for real-time payment processing.  The Technical Lead is responsible for defining, delivering and evolving the technical architecture for a highly scalable, transactional platform capable of processing hundreds of millions of transactions per day. This is an opportunity for a accomplished Technical Lead to join a market-changing firm at key phase in its development and take a leadership role in defining and realising the forward technical strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
• Leading software development initiatives by working with the Leadership team and Systems Engineers to design software and build high scale systems using a variety of Java 8 technologies, including: Java 8, Akka, Mongo, MQ, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, VMWare, AWS/cloud, CI tool chain, Cucumber and SOAPui
• Build and maintain a quality software process, including test driven development, behaviour driven development and continuous integration

Desired Skills/Experience:
• Significant experience as a Technical Lead / Technical Architect gained within a product environment, primarily within transactional systems / financial services
• Demonstrable experience building, deploying, and maintaining highly scalable systems within financial services / transactional environments
• Strong experience technically leading multi-disciplined technical teams including software engineers, Devops and testing professionals
• Deep Java 8 skills complemented by strong experience with integration and message-based systems
• Excellent communication skills to enable strong integration and knowledge sharing with business stakeholders
• A developed appreciation for the global payments industry and standards, including experience of leading the delivery of specific Capital Markets or Banking Payment solutions, in areas such as Bacs, Faster Payments, SEPA, SWIFT and mobile payments
