The Role/Responsibilities:

The AVP, CSR reports to the Global Head of CSR/President of the Moody's Foundation (the Foundation) and leads a team responsible for the regional implementation and communication of the MCO CSR Strategy for EMEA and Asia. Responsibilities include working closely with senior leadership, public sector officials, community leaders, and clients in the regions to identify opportunities for cross fertilization of societal engagement and business initiatives to create shared value. A key component is execution of the philanthropic and employee engagement activities, and special projects.by successfully managing a team charged with establishing effective relationships with not-for-profit organizations, and fellow employees. The AVP, CSR will focus stakeholders and the team's efforts across the firm's CSR priority areas that include Small and Growing Businesses, Education and the Environment.

The role requires awareness of critical needs and social issues of the communities where we operate in conjunction with keeping abreast of Moody's overall strategy and business objectives, growth opportunities, products and services, and current and targeted client bases, to identify and prioritize synergistic opportunities for engagement.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and executing against a business plan that leverages market knowledge to find intersections between community needs, and business and employee engagement objectives.
  • Develop and implement a regional strategy for non-profit relationships that optimizes branding, engagement and visibility in a manner that aligns with goals of the Foundation and MCO's CSR strategy.
  • Motivate and guide the team to build and cultivate relationships with varied list of stakeholders that align with MCO's global CSR strategy.
  • Manage regional CSR Associates responsible for relationships with non-profit grant recipients and organizations providing or coordinating employee engagement activities.
  • Manage the grant proposal process for EMEA/Asia including assisting the team in identifying potential grantees and projects; provide oversight for the creation of request for proposals; guidance on developing the proposal process and outlining the timeline; and leadership in assessing and recommending proposals that are the best fit for alignment with the strategic initiatives of the Foundation.
  • Manage the regional reporting processes, including working collaboratively with the global CSR team on all reporting requirements for tracking budgets, employee-directed giving, providing materials for the annual CSR report, tax reporting, and Board and CSR Council presentations.
  • Organize systematic approaches that encourage suggestions and feedback to ensure the successful conversion of the regional employee engagement framework from transformational to skills based and pro bono resourcing that leverages the talents and expertise of employees.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with regional line-of-business leaders by communicating MCO's CSR strategy and the Foundation's philanthropic initiatives. Support regional senior leadership by suggesting innovative ways of engagement with non-profit partners; identify opportunities for regional leadership to enhance visibility and involvement in CSR activities; work closely with communications and the CSR team to maximize Moody's branding and coverage of events.
  • Organize, facilitate and attend meetings with funders, grantees, grant-seekers, community members and other constituents of CSR. Develop and maintain a productive network of professional relationships with community leaders, non-profit organizations, peers, and thought leaders in CSR.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, public affairs, or equivalent field required
  • Substantial of progressively more responsible experience in CSR, corporate philanthropy/employee engagement or similar fields
  • Relevant experience in managing direct reports, experience in managing remotely a plus
  • Understanding of the grant making and the non-profit sector; knowledge of the India Companies Act and Chinese ONGO Laws a plus
  • Familiarity with the Financial Services industry and MCO's products and services.
  • Ability to critically assess the impact and strategic alignment of non-profit partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically about program design and implementation.
  • Creative, flexible, and collaborative with an ability to work in a team-oriented environment; demonstrates a high degree of initiative; and is results-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills and executive presence
  • Capable of managing multi-stakeholder programs that drive employee, client, and/or community engagement for measureable results
  • Computer excellency in all Microsoft components (Word, Excel, Power Point required)
  • Experience in working independently and as part of a team
  • Proven track record of successfully influencing and garner cooperation from multi-level and cross functional teams at different levels
