Investec is an international specialist bank and asset manager that provides a diverse range of financial products and services to a niche client base, both corporate and retail. This will be a dual role where you will be delivering tangible value adds for the Investment Banking team and the Head of Investment Banking. This role will include gathering and enhancing management information and rolling out strategic projects in Investment Banking.

Description of Role and Key Responsibilities

MI Analysis:

  • Enhance reporting systems, and review MI to ensure MI is effective and easy to review
  • Identify ways to improve MI, processes and systems in IB and champion / carry out such initiatives
  • Ensure MI is utilised correctly to identify improvements, opportunities and that the team meets their goals in line with strategy
  • Ensure accurate pipeline management and forecasting; measure and manage activity rates, communications and process
  • Collation and tracking of deals, targets, market maps, client interaction, meetings
  • Ensuring reporting is done on a regular and timely basis
  • Ensuring projects are done on a timely basis
  • Feedback on what improvements are required of operational processes to enhance data quality and MI
  • Liasing with other members of IB or the wider group as required.
  • Highly numerate
  • CRM, internal systems and projects:
  • Suggest improvements to CRM and any other reporting systems to enhance management information (MI) reporting which may include the creation of dashboards, views, pipeline reporting, and best practice documentation
  • Engagement and Usage: ensure all IB teams are using CRM properly and inputting valid and accurate data and strive to maintain a high level of quality, accuracy and consistenc
  • Assist on projects to increase the operational efficiency of IB and the MI for IB

Other:

  • Attend and take minutes at various Investment Baking meetings such as the corporate finance sector meetings, financial sponsors transaction group meeting, quarterly revenue meetings, etc.
  • Maintain action items in relation to meetings and projects and ensuring such action items are completed in a timely manner

  • Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role (compulsory)
