Team description
Markets MO Strategic Initiatives is a dedicated team of project resources that are focused on delivering large scale change initiatives that span across business units to address business, industry and client requirements across the CIB organization. The group provides a unique mix of project skills and product experience that are not tied to a specific business unit enabling it to provide a consistent, high-quality and responsive approach to the way we manage and execute change across the Corporate & Investment Bank.

The role
T ypically the role will be required to manage projects across multiple stakeholders and therefore there will be frequent engagement with Operations and Technology as well as Business Management and Legal & Compliance. The role will expose the individual to a variety of functions and Subject Matter Experts within the bank and as such they will need to able to learn quickly and build relationships at all levels. The ideal candidate would have a good understanding of core functions of the investment bank and would have previous experience leading streams of a large change program. We are looking for someone who can drive all aspects of a project, from initiation, to build, UAT and delivery to the end users. The role will also have an analytical aspect, and as such, will require being at ease with handling data.
Projects are tracked and monitored using a variety of tools and artefacts with updates presented to various levels of management from PWG to PCC and Steering Committee. The candidate will assist with facilitating these sessions by scheduling them, preparing materials such as scorecards, attending to logistics and recording and tracking actions and decisions.

Project Manager /BA

  • Project initiation and identification of stakeholders
  • Standing up governance processes and artefacts, strong process skills
  • Perform business analysis for specific program workstreams
  • Setting entry / exit criteria for the major phases
  • Metrics, issue management and escalation
  • Extensive track record managing large scale, front to back change programmes
  • Significant experience within the Investment Banking Sector, preferably in Tier 1 banks or consulting
  • Background in Technology or Operations change
Generic Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Capital Markets products / functions / processes
  • Logical and structured approach to planning and problem solving and decision-making
  • Strong analytical, prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Self starter, and able to extract the sub components of an high level ask
  • Ability to communicate confidently and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Good MS Office skills - Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Risk and controls awareness.
