EMEA Rates Product Control is currently recruiting for an experienced Vice President level controller to join the team and become the responsible controller for several market making trading desks. The role entails the management of both P&L and Risk related tasks and requires extensive interaction with Front Office, Market Risk and Business Management. Additionally, it provides the successful candidate with an excellent opportunity to learn and gain an in-depth understanding of the more complex aspects of Interest Rate risk.

The EMEA Rates business trades interest rate products such as swaps, futures, bonds and FX Forwards across various curves and tenors within multiple European markets.

The candidate, to be based in London, will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the Production and consolidation of the daily profit & loss (P&L) & Risk reconciliation reports.
  • Managing the interaction with key stakeholders such as Front Office, Financial Control, Market Risk Coverage and VCG.
  • Co-ordination, oversight and engagement in the month end process ensuring all adjustments are understood and can be validated.
  • Ensuring compliance with Product Control standards
  • Using knowledge and understanding of desk strategy and risk positioning to provide daily commentary to senior management on significant P&L drivers.
  • Participating and driving a wide range of on-going and new projects ensuring the needs and requirements of Product Control are met.
  • Ensuring the wider team are constantly focussing on operating efficiencies and improving processes while maintaining a strong control environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes/skills:
  • Substantial Product Control experience with exposure to Rates products both from a linear and non-linear perspective.
  • Self-starter, independent worker, ability to think outside of the box and self-identify problems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.
  • Inquisitive nature with an eagerness to investigate and fully understand products, processes and issues.
  • Positive can-do attitude and strong control mindset
  • Ability to challenge efficiency and drive forward on change and innovation of processes.
  • Experience of managing a team of at least 5 people.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Qualified Accountant.
  • Familiarity with SAP accounting system and Interest Rate risk systems
