Division Summary Information Technology has a global footprint operating across London, Asia (Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Beijing), Dubai and New York. IT comprises of 5 core areas namely Global Markets IT (FICE & Commodities/Operations/Market Services Technology), Global Production Services, Business Management, Control IT/ Tech Risk IT and Finance and Risk IT. The Calypso RTB Manager is expected to form part of the Operations RTB team and will work closely with a number of in-house service providers, business users and stakeholders to support and implement the changes in production.

Job Purpose
ICBCS use Calypso V15 as its Collateral Management system and are investigating introducing further business lines like cash management, FX and securities. To support this business initiative, ICBCS are looking for Calypso RTB Manager who can lead a team of support analyst and analyst developers to provide first line and development capabilities.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Maintaining production stability & availability
• You will work with service delivery, infrastructure support & business stakeholders to define and prioritise issues according to severity or risk, before delivering measurable solutions that drive stability and improvement.
• You will ensure production break-fix and service improvement requirements take priority over change through effective stakeholder management and expectation setting.
• You will ensure that the ICBCS Service Delivery problem, incident & change management processes are understood and followed by support teams at all times.
• You will actively manage any IT risks across the application & underlying technology stack
• You will be accountable for ensuring effective capacity management is being performed across all applications and underpinning platform technologies that support your applications.
• You will maintain vendor agreements, licenses, SLA’s, underpinning contracts ensuring regular and repeatable service reviews are in place and minuted.
• You will ensure all batch SLA’s/ OLA’s are appropriate, understood and agreed for the critical path of your batch processes, ensuring that you understand the full business impacts of any failures along that path.
• You will ensure appropriate Back-Ups & transaction logging are in-place to meet the RTO/ RPO requirements of your business as defined in the BIA
• You will ensure that appropriate UAT environments are in existence and in line with the Production set-up
• You will ensure end-to-end testing capability is available and utilised with full engagement & awareness of upstream and downstream stakeholders, through the appropriate governance processes for all releases and their related lifecycle stages.
• Releases will be planned, QA’d, tested and documented with full auditability ensuring that the risk and control framework is adhered to at all times.
• You will ensure that all change releases are reviewed and challenged for production readiness in accordance with any release standards, service transition or governance processes defined.
• You will encourage strong knowledge management across your application teams ensuring all architecture diagrams and documents, data flows and integrations, release and deployment guides, administration; disaster recovery documentation, user and/or training manuals are centrally stored and frequently reviewed.
• You will ensure all fixes or known errors are maintained in the relevant knowledge or known-error databases.
• You will ensure access and security procedures are in place with system passwords stored in break glass password vaults to ensure segregation of duties are maintained between change and run.
• You will encourage ‘shift left’ activities to ensure your core team add the most value where required with the low level tasks moving into and developing the 1st and 2nd level support functions.
• You will ensure all BCP/ Crisis Management plans are documented, maintained, tested and matured on an ongoing basis.

Analytics, problem solving & reporting
• You will focus your attention on the identification of incident root cause and service improvement with an inquiring and tenacious approach.
• You will conduct proactive trending on a wide and diverse set of data points any potential incident or risk themes.
• You will review current & recent problems to ensure the correct level of due diligence and challenge has been performed to mitigate repeat incidents.
• You will ensure problem records are kept up to date with clear & concise information explaining what current investigational steps are taking place with clear commitments on delivery.
• You will ensure that data quality assurance standards are maintained and improved where possible to ensure meaningful Management Information can be produced for Senior Management.
• You will work closely with the Service Delivery Management teams to pro-actively identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
• You will provide frequent status and metric reporting taking the opportunity to continuously mature the reporting catalogue as required.
• You will have a restless curiosity that will lead you to interrogate all technology, processes and data for opportunities to improve stability, customer experience and quality.
• You will be efficient at managing several applications as part of your service portfolio.
• You will hold yourself and others to account on the delivery of actions, escalating non-delivery to senior management
• You will manage your own workload proactively and understand escalation processes.
• Your primary focus will be on driving incident reduction demonstrated through improved production stability.
• You will ensure adherence to all group standards / policies and procedures.

• The role leads itself but you will indirectly influence colleagues and leaders across Technology to think ‘Production first’.
• You will play a key role in the wider incident/ crisis management frameworks by participating in a number of regular forums

Strategy, Design & Governance
• You will ensure that all aspects of your service portfolio are compliant against any Software, Hardware, Database & vendor application roadmaps engaging with the appropriate teams where required to define action plans and raise awareness around associated risks.
• You will ensure that all aspects of your service portfolio are deployed as per the approved architectural & technical designs.
 
Important relationships:
 
• Strong relationships with development teams to ensure early engagement, input, challenge and delivery of all change initiatives.
• Regularly attend mandatory governance meetings to ensure appropriate diligence, rigor and representation of new service implementations or enhancements across the application and infrastructure stack
• Maintain relationships with the wider risk and control functions to ensure that risks are understood, documented and mitigated with clear action plans
• Foster strong relationships with the business to understand business strategy with awareness of reputational, financial or regulatory impacts associated with disruption to the supporting services. This includes having a complete understanding and awareness of direct upstream, downstream and integration components including periphery dependent systems/ business services
• Day-to-day relationships with managers from other business units to ensure strong collaboration, awareness, and unification of approach, book of work, challenges, best practice, etc.
• Robust relationships with the architecture functions (both Infrastructure and Enterprise) to ensure compliance with associated roadmaps, new service design, existing service re-design.
• Strong operational relationships with Infrastructure platform support to ensure continued stability and availability of production services.
• External vendors to ensure delivery of contracted services and associated improvements.
 
 
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
• Degree qualified
• Preferred experience working in a function of an investment bank & understands the need for control in a banking environment
• Managing Calypso instance in production.
• Leading the team of calypso developers
• Understanding the back office, confirmation, settlement and collateral function
• Understanding of Financial Regulatory controls across multiple global jurisdictions.
• Evidence of progression and consistency in career to date
Technical skills, exposure or awareness:
• Java 7 and above,
• Calypso v14,v15 API
• Calypso Module in collateral, cash, fx, securities.
• Databases (Oracle, Sybase).
• Automation Testing using Cucumber , fitnesse or any other tool.
