Introduction




Our client is looking for experienced Cloud Consultants who can work with clients to implement Cloud solutions to support business growth and value.



You will help to build robust and scalable cloud platforms that enable teams to deliver modern micro-services based and digital solutions and continuously improve environments through automation and infrastructure-as-code.



You will have experience working in Government and/or Defence environments, supporting clients through their cloud journey from strategy through to a live service. You will need experience with OCI (SC Cleared role) or OCI, AWS or Azure (DV Cleared role).




Working Patterns - Min 3 days per week on site in either Manchester, Bristol, Cheltenham or London, and you need to be happy to travel to other locations as required.




Key responsibilities

• Design and implement modern, agile Cloud environments for clients within the Defence and Government clients.


• Deliver across a broad range of activities from technical and solution architecture design to operations, prototyping, developing and testing.


• Communicate complex / technical issues to non-technical audiences within your client.


• Lead vendor/product assessment and selection and assess applications for technical suitability for migration to Cloud.


• Lead in exciting areas such as Infrastructure-as-Code, DevOps, containers, Platform-as-a-Service, CI/CD and micro-services.


• Define and deliver a Cloud Strategy and Operating Model that aligns to and underpins business, technology and/or digital strategies.


• Grow relationships, experience, practice and maintaining our position as market leaders with key integration vendors such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform.


• Development, publication and maintenance of Technical documentation.


• Leading and managing teams (at more senior levels).

Skills & experience

• Cloud Architecture and Engineering within a Government/Defence environment.


• Cloud technologies and services (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud Platform / OCI).


• Container technologies (e.g. Docker, Rocket) and their associated orchestration engines (Kubernetes / OpenShift / Rancher / Swarm).


• Infrastructure as code development (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, ARM, GCP CDM).


• Running and using Cloud automation tooling including Continuous Integration and Deployment.


• Experience helping clients define technical and non-functional requirements.


• Consulting experience would be a plus.


• Experience of managing and leading teams.

• £40,000 - £90,000 per annum.
