Description

Commodities / Fixed Income / Equities Product Control Manager

  • Managing the production of the Daily P&L, including analysis and explanation
  • Managing the balance sheet validation ensuring completeness, accuracy & integrity of the ledger, including verification review and commentary
  • Assisting in daily Risk reporting, through backtesting signoff
  • Liaison with Front Office and other support functions
  • Managing, training and developing staff
  • Continuous evaluation and improvement of current processes
  • Involvement in ad hoc projects
  • Identify issues (accounting, booking, valuation, processes) before they become major issues, and suggest ways to remedy
  • Work with the Product Control MIS team to ensure that all books are reflected correctly in the departmental MIS reporting and that all central processes and controls are adhered to
  • Interact with wider finance team on any queries relating to the portions of the BS owned by product control

Profile

  • Degree Education
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Extensive product control experience
  • Experience of source system reconciliations
  • Change management expertise
  • Ability to manage upwards as well as to manage and delegate downwards
  • Ability to understand and break down complex issues into simple concepts
