Corporate Services - Accounting Senior Manager

  • You will be responsible for managing the Corporate Services Accounting department, comprising a dozen qualified and part-qualified accountants;
  • The department is responsible for providing accounting and cash management services to a mix of holding companies and asset owning companies in the private equity, real estate, debt and infrastructure sectors, as well as managing the overall client relationship;
  • As Senior Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership to the teams, managing client relationships and ensuring operational excellence is maintained;

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Acting as a member of the senior management team, providing leadership and technical guidance to the department and wider business;
  • Direct line management of the Managers in the department, with indirect oversight of Officers and Senior Officers;
  • Lead point of contact for major Corporate Services clients including the London office’s two largest clients, ensuring excellent service delivery;
  • Ensuring that the teams are carrying out robust processes, across the various areas of responsibility including:
  1. the setup and/or on-boarding of client structures  and maintenance of Know Your Customer and Client Due Diligence Files;
  2. bookkeeping on BOB accounting system for UK limited companies, LLPs and LPs;
  3. preparation of management accounts and financial statements for asset holding and financing companies under IFRS/FRS 102, including complex consolidations;
  4. liaising with auditors to ensure efficient completion of client audits;
  5. preparing VAT returns and liaising with tax advisors on corporation tax returns;
  6. preparation and release of payments through various banking platforms; and
  7. assisting with liquidations.
  • Working closely with the Company Secretarial Senior Manager to ensure excellent delivery across all accounting and company secretarial services;
  • Working closely with the Fund Administration Senior Manager to ensure consistency of approach, and cross-learning/cover between the teams;
  • Contributing to the annual budgeting and forecasting process for the London office;
  • Leading the billing process for Corporate Services accounting clients, and ensuring timely receipt of payments;
  • Ensuring that Alter Domus group-wide processes are adhered to by the teams;
  • Managing priorities and critical decisions;
  • Corresponding with portfolio of clients, board members, third party intermediaries such as banks, lawyers, accountants and tax advisors both in person and via written or telephone communication;
  • Preparing for and participating in board and shareholders' meetings;
  • Monitoring changes in accounting standards and the regulatory environment and taking the appropriate action on behalf of clients and internally; and
  • Leading projects to ensure continuous improvements in service and efficiency.

Your Profile:

  • Strong academic background;
  • Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA);
  • Proven management and leadership experience, including ability to build strong teams and client relationships;
  • Experience in accounting for asset holding companies;
  • Ambitious with a high level of energy, commitment and initiative;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet a range of deadlines;
  • Organised with an eye for detail;
  • Excellent communication and numeracy skills;
  • You adopt a flexible and hands-on team oriented approach;
  • High Level of IT literacy with strong Excel skills; and
  • You have the ability to prioritise and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
