The Firm Are an extremely well established, multi $bn global investor in Real Estate. The types of investment vary from unsecured loans, residential and commercial loans (performing and non-performing) as well as direct real estate across multiple geographies. The firm have a number of offices located across Europe and North America and are extremely active.


The Role


The team is seeking an experienced asset manager to come in at Director level and take responsibility for European investments with the aim to maximise value and returns. The candidate will also provide strategic and commercial views on performance to the investment team and external investors.


Key Responsibilities:

· Devise and independently implement asset management strategies across a number of asset classes including leasing, financing, capital improvement and disposition with a view to maximising returns

· Oversee operating partners and property managers in their day-to-day management of the assets, and become involved in key decisions as appropriate, e.g. in negotiations with tenants for substantial new leases or rent reviews

· Extract and review performance data on the assets, analyse the data, draw conclusions and manage the implications as appropriate

· Manage external service providers, including accountants and lawyers, as appropriate

· Manage the debt financing on assigned investments and procure debt extensions, renegotiations, recapitalizations, etc. as necessary

· Undertake portfolio analyses and asset reviews and prepare performance and ad hoc reports

· Assist with preparing fund reports and maintaining a performance dialogue with fund investors, working alongside the asset managers, and various other teams in this regard

· Assist the developing and implementing of effective and consistent asset management systems

· Provide clear guidance and instruction to analysts and associates; mentor and train junior staff


The Candidate


Ideal experience includes:

· Extensive experience -gained in a first-rate professional services or investment environment, e.g. real estate management / private equity firm, advisory firm

· Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of real estate values

· Excellent analytical skills and detailed understanding of cash flow models

· Strong background in financing and modelling of real estate finance and investment cases

· Pan-European asset management experience

· Strong spreadsheet, word processing and data management skills highly desirable

· Fluent in spoken and written English; with additional continental European languages an advantage

· Very strong Excel modelling and financial skills, with proven capability

· Previous transactional and asset management experience in a leading financial institution, private equity or real estate group

· Detailed appreciation of the physical side of property. This includes all aspects of ongoing asset management, valuations and exits

· Ideally experience of loan execution and management

· Excellent transaction management skills

· Entrepreneurial demeanour/commercial acumen, strategically minded but hands-on in approach

· Self-starter with a problem solver mentality and the ability to make well-reasoned business decisions

· Impeccable ethical standards and the ability to forge trusted relationships at all levels.
