Department overview:

The Client Onboarding team coordinates the onboarding of all clients in the EMEA region covering 200+ Global Markets and Investment Banking Sales teams across Equities and Fixed Income. This is a client facing role where you will join an established team, focused on delivering onboarding efficiency and exceptional client service. The role will focus on new to bank clients as well as maintaining existing relationships. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills, who can build strong relationships both internally and externally to assist in facilitating the client's front to back onboarding experience.

Role description:

* Responsible for front to back Onboarding of new and existing clients
* Client case management, including updates and query resolution
* Regular communication with Sales, Compliance, Credit, Legal and Middle office to ensure that clients are on-boarded in a coordinated, efficient and streamlined manner
* Regular meetings with line management and Sales, ensuring they understand the status of a client's request within the onboarding lifecycle
* Work closely with Regulatory teams to ensure limited impact to the business and clients in light of new regulatory initiatives.

* Ability to manage high volume of requests, being flexible and dynamic in approach
* Confident in communicating with internal and external clients and forging strong professional relationships
* Ability to articulate key messages through all mediums and escalate potential risks in a timely manner
* Strong client interaction and impeccable professional standards are key
* A small team of people covering numerous European Salespeople means that team work is paramount to the success of each individual and the collective team
* Thorough understanding of the firm's credit, legal and compliance requirements
* Thorough understandings of the regulatory environment, ensuring clients are compliant as applicable. This includes, but not limited to, EMIR, Dodd Frank, MiFID II and FATCA compliance

Experience, qualifications and knowledge required

* Client Onboarding experience within an Investment Bank
* Ability to navigate complex data and hierarchy structures
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Client oriented, with the ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally
* A genuine interest in developing a thorough understanding of the business and of Nomura's clients, as well as taking a very proactive approach to the task in hand
* Attention to detail as well as the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently is essential
* A team player, possessing ability to build relationships and partnerships
* Understand risk and control framework and be able to escalate effectively
