• Sustainability & Low Carbon Advisory is part of the Global Advisory team within the Investment Banking & Finance Area at BBVA CIB. Global Advisory provides a full range of investment banking advisory services to CIB clients, including Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Equity Capital Markets (ECM), Debt Advisory and Sustainability & Low Carbon Transition Advisory.

• Our team works alongside corporate, industrial, infrastructure and financial sponsor clients to provide strategic and financial advice on energy transition and decarbonisation opportunities, sustainable growth strategies and capital raising across Europe and globally.

About the job:




This position will have the following content / responsibilities:

• Help in the origination and successful closing of new business opportunities, mainly investment banking, global markets and ESG/Green product solutions, based on deep client segment expertise and strategic dialogue, in coordination with the Sector Heads of the team. Help to originate cross-sell opportunities.


• Focus on understanding clients' investment needs and strategic decisions.


• Elaborate the different presentations and documentation (clients' pitching).


• The day to day of this role will be to prepare client interactions and run presentations in front of clients based on the following services offered to corporate clients, in several sectors:


• Cleantech Advisory: Position BBVA as one of the key financiers and advisors in the global clean techs space, bringing expertise to our clients to help them finance the energy transition


• ESG Equity Advisory: ESG Advisory as an input for strategic decisions and asset allocation. Opportunity to scale up sustainable solutions to equity (M&A/ECM)


• ESG Debt Advisory: Provide ESG Advisory focused on Sustainable Finance (use of proceeds and/or KPI-linked in bond and loan markets.


• Sustainable Strategic Dialogue: Provide a holistic ESG Advisory service to help Corporates achieve stronger sustainability standards while providing access to sustainable financing solutions.


• Energy Transition & Net Zero Advisory: Focus on Climate. Sequenced advisory on decarbonisation and offsetting (NZ.


• ESG Ratings Advisory: Provide best-in-class ESG ratings advisory following a comprehensive 5 step process (including exhaustive recommendations to help the company enhance its ratings).

Qualifications:

• Have around 1-2 years experience in a Financial Institution, Rating Agency, Boutique or Corporate, ideally in the areas of Corporate Finance, Rating Advisory, Capital Structure Advisory, or any financing product.


• Have basic skills in financial modelling and corporate finance, and ideally some credit analysis knowledge.


• Demonstrate high command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Spanish, French, German or Italian is a plus.


• Be able to display senior team member's analysis and thoughts in professional documents aimed to be presented to either external or internal clients, with excellence in the delivery.


• Be able to work in a team and be highly motivated to continuous learning.


• Hold a BA of Business Management or Economics and/or MBA, or a similar degree.
