Global Energy business is now seeking to hire a driven and motivated Macroeconomist for the London office. You will be tasked with applying rigorous economic analysis to advise and support the company. You will contribute to the Economics team’s work providing analysis of the global economic developments and risks, together with detailed analysis of individual countries and regions of key strategic interest.
This role entails analysis of macroeconomic and energy data from around the world with the aim of identifying and communicating global economic developments which will impact business, the business environment in which they operate and the impact of global economic developments on energy demand, supply and trade.
The role will involve macroeconomic research. This will involve informing senior decision makers on macroeconomic opportunities and risks and how they impact the business and global energy markets. You will provide in-depth risk assessments of individual countries ahead of new country access. In addition the role will lead on research between macro and energy economics and be responsible for economic projections (GDP growth and world population). You will supporting these forecasts by contributing the modelling and analysis
of the energy landscape. The role will also provide research and analysis covering world energy. This will involve providing the research and fundamental analysis for a Global energy outlook.
To be considered for this role you should have a strong academic Economics background, ideally with an MSc or PhD. You should also have past experience in macroeconomic analysis in either business or public sector (energy markets knowledge is an advantage but not essential). Previous experience applying economic analysis and communicating the results clearly is essential. In addition strong IT skills especially in economic model building, econometrics and IT Tools. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and relationship building skills both internally and externally are also very important.
