Wellington currently manages over $460 billion in fixed income assets on behalf of our clients worldwid e. Within our fixed income busines s we are currently seeking a High Yield Portfolio Manager to join our tea m. This individual will be based in London, and will be a member of the Global High Yield & Bank Loan team, which manages approximately $40 billion in asset s. Specificall y, this individual will be responsible for developing and managing the European High Yield strategy, working as part of a team managing Global High Yield, and more broadly being a sounding board and thought partner on the balance of the High Yield / Bank Loan platform. This individual will work closely with existing Portfolio Managers on portfolio strategy and risk management, as well as monitoring and analysing credit exposures in client portfolio s.  He/she will also partner closely with other members of the Fixed Income tea m including: Analysts, Traders and Product Manager s. Additionally, this individual will interact regularly with clients to provide performance updates and a market outlooks.


The successful candidate will possess strong credit and quantitative portfolio management skill s. He/she is likely to have at least 10 years of portfolio management experience, of which at least 5 years will have been spent managing European high yield credit portfolios.

Additional qualifications for the position include:

* Strong academic credentials, MBA/CFA preferred.

* Ability to make investment decisions that are supported by rigorous analysis;

* Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate investment decisions and strategy, and with convictions;

* Ability to dynamically assess and analyze volatile or distressed credits - risk management experience is a plus;

* Strong quantitative skills;

* High level of initiative, and true team orientation are mandatory;

* Proven interpersonal skills;

* Ability to work well in a small, collaborative team, while also communicating and interacting with a larger group of investment professionals;

* Ability and willingness to travel, and strong presentation skills;
