A leading Bank are looking to bring in an experienced Controller to join the Transformation Team.
You will focus on the 'Accounting and governance for bespoke transactions' and need to be both technically and commercially focused and able to support the various desks with the Financial Reporting and Governance requirements relating to these transactions. This will include the statutory, management and the hedge accounting impacts on the group, ensuring that transactions are accounted for in an optimal way under IFRS, minimising volatility and assisting stakeholders to understand the impact on the Group's key metrics.
The team works with a variety of finance and non-finance stakeholders and varying levels of seniority, partnering the business on a regular basis to provide insight and analysis into the impacts varying transactions will have on Group. Through regular MI and analysis you will be in a privileged position to understand the current performance and the future direction of the Group's balance sheet.
You will play a key role ensuring that the Financial Reporting of one off transactions is understood, accurately documented, timely communicated and continually evolving to drive the greatest impact. You will work collaboratively with the wider team to proactively drive continuous improvements to processes as well as developing the "so what" messages in executive summaries (via Powerpoint) for senior stakeholders to aid effective business decision making.
The ability to step out of the detail and see the bigger picture is key to being able to communicate clear and simple messages to stakeholders, ensuring recommended improvements and the wider context are understood.
