Excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with Management experience to join the Real Estate team for this prestigious, multi- strategy investment management firm.

Reporting to a highly experienced Financial Controller and managing a number of Junior team members, this is a broad role working with a portfolio in excess of £1.5bn as well as a number of additional Joint Ventures. The role will also have weekly interaction with the fund manager regarding investment decisions and deal pipeline.

The Role:

•    All financial aspects of a large property unit trust, including oversight of two team members
•    Preparation of quarterly management accounts and financial analysis for a range of Real Estate investment structures
•    Work closely with the fund managers and asset management team, providing financial analysis and support for investment decisions, commercial transactions and tenancy options
•    Account for property acquisitions and disposals including the calculation of performance fees due based on performance against benchmark
•    Opportunity to assist on key new funds and joint ventures
•    Quarterly board reporting
•    Annual budgeting and business planning process, quarterly variance analysis and commentary on performance against budget
•    Preparation of VAT returns, trial balances and management accounts  
•    Preparation of annual consolidated financial statements and control of the year-end audit process
•    Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including administrators and property managers  Review monthly information received from property managers, querying any inconsistencies
•    Cash management including monitoring of liquidity and regular capital calls and distributions to investors
•    Respond to information requests and ad-hoc queries from investors


Requirements:

•    Experience accounting and reporting on a portfolio of real estate investments
•    Experience managing a team
•    Candidate should hold a relevant accounting qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA or CIMA and have demonstrated relevant industry experience post qualification
•    Experience gained within an accounting practice, fund administration, investment management or similar background preferred
