Fidelity’s Fixed Income Division is one of the country’s leading fixed income managers with over $800 billion in fixed income assets managed by a staff of roughly 200 investment professionals. At Fidelity, we combine fundamental research on domestic and international debt issuers with macroeconomic and quantitative analysis to develop investment decisions aiming to maximize risk-adjusted total return for our clients. The Fixed Income Division is headquartered in Merrimack, New Hampshire, though more than 20 division members are located in Fidelity’s London office.
Based in London, we are seeking a Research Associate for our Investment Grade Research Team covering industrial companies in Europe and Asia. The Research Associate position designed to recruit talented and industrious individuals to support Fidelity’s bond and money market investment process, and to train them with the foundational skills to launch successful careers in finance and investing.
The Associate will support Research Analysts in: (i) providing in-depth coverage of assigned industrial credits and sectors; (ii) building and maintaining financial models; (iii) drafting and producing research material; (iv) maintaining robust and accurate data; (v) communicating credit opinions; and (vi) generating investment ideas. The Associate will interact regularly with analysts, portfolio managers and traders, both in the UK and the US, across a variety of investment mandates. Our investment process is heavily team-based and the successful Associate will contribute regularly and effectively to group activities.
The Fixed Income Division’s Research Associate Program is designed to provide the participants with experience in fixed income research and investing, as well as in-depth training in a particular sector(s) of the market. Participation in this program may last up to 4 years and is mentorship based. After 4 years, the Associate is expected to either find another position internally, or externally, or pursue additional education.
The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree ideally in Economics and/or Finance and preferably have completed coursework in accounting and finance.
