A prestigious, rapidly expanding hedge fund, that have won numerous awards of late on the back of exceptional performance, are looking to make a newly created front office hire.

The ‘Analyst’ will join the firm’s front office team, working directly for the Portfolio Management team. The remit is broad and focuses on performance analytics; with your own analysis, commentary and conclusions presented to the PM / senior management team within the firm, the basis of which will be used for trade ideas / investment decisions (+ senior marketers). As the sole individual working in this type of investment desk role, ad-hoc work for the PM team will be vast, varied and interesting. You will be cross trained by the head trader to cover trade execution responsibilities. 

Shadowing the PM team, this junior level hire will be provided with an unrivalled learning and development opportunity to progress directly into an internal investment role / trader role within 2yrs.

Candidates must have an exceptional academic profile - you will have graduated from a red-brick university with a STEM 2:1/first class degree + you will ideally have straight A’s at A-level. Candidates should currently be working for a high-profile institution - the preference is to look at individuals rolling off Front office investment banking graduate schemes, but there is flexibility on skill set/background should you have a strong knowledge and passion for financial markets. We prefer candidates that have some form of programming experience.

The role will most likely cap at a 60k base salary as we feel that this would provide a relevant junior with a fair increase on his/her current base. The correct mindset, beyond looking at the opportunity and progression, is to focus on total comp - a top performer will earn a large % of base salary as a bonus, making this a highly lucrative role for a role at this level.
