• Strong academic background, educated to degree level (at least 2:1 or equivalent) ideally in a analytical / business field • Some relevant analytical experience working in producing financial reports / MI including data analysis with an understanding of the importance of a strong control framework. • An understanding of banking products, including their associated cash flows and valuation principles.

The successful candidate will be expected to study towards a chartered profession i.e. ACA/CIMA/ACCA, ACT, CFA. 

We have 2 positions within Finance currently looking

Treasury Analyst:

The purpose of this role is to provide the information with which the Treasury team actively monitors and manages the Bank’s funding, liquidity and associated costs, in addition to the provision of key internal and regulatory liquidity and funding information. The role offers a broad exposure to all aspects of the Treasury function, including the commercial aspects of Treasury’s role in the Bank.

They successful candidate will gain a detailed understanding of liquidity and funding regulation and through interaction with liquidity risk, the front office and broader finance team (including the product control, financial reporting and capital teams) will build a strong understanding of the financial services sector and associated products.

Product Control Analyst:
~~Valuation Role - Is responsible for the daily and monthly independent price testing verification of one or more of the Front office business areas.

~~Controlling role:
• Production of the Daily P&L, including analysis and explanation,
• Balance sheet validation ensuring completeness, accuracy & integrity of the ledger,
• Assisting in daily Risk reporting, through backtesting signoff
• Liaison with support functions and Front Office,
• Ad hoc projects

MI role:
• Responsible for daily and monthly MI and central controls, including the performance and distribution of a number of key reconciliations, being a central control hub for collation and distribution of data to Controllers and Managers,
• Liaison with support functions and Front Office,
• Aid to develop and maintain the Product Control KRI framework,
• Ad hoc projects.

Valuation role:
• Configuring the system for Independent Price Verification and Provisioning on a regular basis.
• Implementing business requirements from the Business and Product Control.
• Daily / monthly independent price and input parameter verification
• Liaison with Front Office and support functions
• Ad hoc projects.

In addition for all areas there is an expectation for:
Issues & Streamlining
• Identify issues (accounting, booking, valuation, processes etc) before they become major issues, and suggest ways to remedy
• Constantly look for ways to improve / streamline current processes
