The Investment Banking Department, headed by Jim Amine and Luigi de Vecchi, assists clients in achieving their objectives through mergers and acquisitions, debt, equity and other capital raising. The Department, and its Global Markets Solutions Group is a leader in innovating new and creative ideas for clients which help them access the best and most efficient capital sources. We combine our Industry and Country Coverage groups' global expertise and reach with the Bank's Product expertise to deliver such solutions efficiently and effectively to clients.

Departmental Overview:

The Health Care Group covers a variety of sectors including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, specialty pharmaceuticals, medical devices/tools, distribution/PBMs, hospitals & alternate sites and managed care.

Our bankers execute mergers and acquisitions, raise capital for clients, guide companies through financial restructuring, discuss strategic alternatives geared towards competitive growth, and provide other advisory services. As an Associate you will work alongside some of the industry's best and brightest bankers and have exposure to senior people at a diverse set of companies. Our clients span all industries and regions, and through the coverage and deal teams, Associates get the chance to have high visibility, impact and recognition.

Typical responsibilities will include:
  • Production of pitches - You will work with Analysts to produce well-argued presentations and thorough analysis. Intimate involvement in design and structure of presentation. Writing reports, internal liaison and participation in internal team and credit and external client meetings
  • Verbal presentation of analysis and sections of pitches to clients of all levels (presenting, marketing, external client meetings)
  • Developing complex financial models, working with clients to develop inputs and modelling approach and using output to draw conclusions and make recommendations (modelling, analysis, internally, client liaison)
  • Involvement in dealing with clients on detailed, day-to-day aspects of a transaction (telephone/face-to-face)
  • You will liase with advisors, lawyers, accountants and other counter parties to produce prospectuses and other legal documentation (telephone contact, negotiating)
  • Idea generation - aware of trends and developments within the respective industry sub-sector and combines this with product knowledge to spot opportunities for CS to assist clients. (reading, researching material)
  • Travel alongside clients to visit investors worldwide through roadshows and other activities (traveling, marketing)
  • Produce documents for internal approval processes (writing reports and analyses and presenting internally)
  • Organise client identification and new project set-ups in the Credit Suisse system
  • Deals with client on detailed, day-to-day aspects of a transaction (telephone and face-to-face meetings, relationship building)


You Offer
  • Solid modelling and technical skill set
  • Experience of the Healthcare sector preferred, products and markets
  • Experience in the financial services industry required
  • You should be able to produce technically excellent written materials - prospectuses, credit committee, investment banking committee memos, client pitches
  • Able to use technical skills and knowledge to solve problems and give advice
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task across many tasks and projects and plan ahead
  • You will have the ability to present in a measured, clear, articulate way - in particular with regard to technical issues
  • Be able to work fairly autonomously with limited supervision, self-reliant, great common sense
  • Excellent project management skills

  • Degree in Business or Finance desirable
  • Able to remain calm under pressure
  • Efficient, focused on delivery and details
  • Comfortable interacting with clients of all levels in business and social settings
  • Responsive and sensitive to needs of clients and aware and responsible for personal impression given to the client
This role will require ongoing certification under the Senior Manager & Certification Regime.
