Job Description:

Role Profile

The COO team is responsible for business management, strategy, and analytics for the Institutional Client Business (ICB). The team engages with the leaders of ICB to drive key initiatives and work closely with internal partners including Investment teams, Corporate Strategy, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Platform Innovation, and Sales to ensure consistent messaging and coordination of critical projects internally. Additionally, the team is responsible for monitoring results, allocating resources and implementing metrics-driven sales execution to manage the business.

The Regulatory Implementation and Oversight Lead will report to the head of the change management and governance and control function. The function works with business leaders and other key stakeholders and partners to deliver change in line with the EMEA ICB strategy, whilst also representing the business in firm-wide initiatives. The role will lead and support the delivery of a wide variety of projects, with a focus on implementing change driven by regulation. In addition, they will be responsible for ensuring the business has adequate policies, procedures and training to deliver the sales process in a compliant and efficient manner across the region. Given the complex, and ever-changing, nature of regulation, a key aspect of the role with be the ability to understand the regulation that is driving requirements, and to be comfortable working with SMEs to devise pragmatic solutions to regulatory problems that are sensitive to the business’s and our client’s needs.

The position will include the following responsibilities:

  • Own work streams and high-profile projects that sit within the EMEA Institutional COO Team. Lead projects including managing task list, monitoring activities, escalate issues appropriately and concisely report project status to stakeholders.
  • Act as a conduit between Legal and Compliance and ICB. Work with relevant SMEs to understand the regulation impacting on the business and any upcoming changes. Report to relevant ICB leadership committees on upcoming, in-flight and implemented change.
  • Represent EMEA ICB as a stakeholder in firm-wide regulatory projects. Ensure that the ICB’s voice is being heard, and that the impact on the business and our clients is being understood. Work with project partners to implement change that meets the regulatory requirement in a manner that causes minimum disruption.
  • Work closely with the Business Management function, to implement controls that ensure that sales teams adhere to relevant processes and support the development of high quality, actionable management information which identifies areas of risk and proposed solutions. Partner with other client business COO teams to ensure consistency across channels.

Individual Profile:

  • Experience working in all aspects of project management, requirements gathering, planning and execution
  • Comfortable with regulation, specific familiarity with MiFID and SMCR a plus
  • Demonstrates organizational skills in project management disciplines
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to be part of a team and implement change
  • Demonstrate flexibility in meeting the needs of a challenging, fast paced business environment
