Investment Professional - Private Equity Fund of Funds

Our client is a large, multi-family office based in London which is looking to add an Investment Professional to its Private Equity fund investing team. The team invests in GP's across various sectors and geographies.

Responsibilities include:

1. To assist in all stages of the investment process for investing in private capital funds
a) Providing support to the Head of the Fund Investing team
b) Track watch-list managers and be responsible for maintaining and developing internal investment tools
c) Conduct desk based and face to face research and due diligence
d) Provide commentary and analysis as required
e) Liaise with investment committees, fund administration, custodians and client teams to execute approved investments


2. To assist with the monitoring of the team’s current portfolio of funds and co-investments
a) Research and map individual markets to identify the leading players
b) Monitor existing fund investments and provide appropriate analysis of fund reports
c) Provide commentary and analysis as required
d) Participation and organisation of manager meetings and annual meetings for all existing portfolio funds
e) Preparing marketing and reporting material for clients

3. To assist with preparing client reporting packs including, where appropriate, attending client meetings
a) Preparation of regular and ad hoc reporting material for clients, the client team and the Board of Directors managed investment funds
b) Providing written commentary for client reporting

4. To assist with fund-raising for new funds
a) Preparing marketing material for pitches as well as ad-hoc materials


5. To participate in ad-hoc investment projects
a) Participating in the negotiation of terms relating to new investments
b) Keep informed of industry and regulatory changes


6. Responsible for adhering to the operating procedures of the business and providing enhancements when required

 

Background:

a) A graduate or masters graduate with a first class or 2:1 degree

b) Ideally, the candidate will have started studying towards the CFA or CAIA qualifications in addition to a completed qualfication as an ACA; an M&A background within an investment bank would be advantageous

c) Some working experience within private equity, fund management, banking, asset management, accounting or consultancy

d) Numerate and have a good basic knowledge of key corporate finance, private equity and general investment management concepts and theory

e) Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word
