This will be a very fulfilling and rewarding position for the right type of experienced Buy-Side Investment Risk / Performance Measurement / Attribution Analyst / or pre-sales person to drive a business forward and create a legacy for the future.
If you are currently working at an Asset Manager, Fund Service Provider, or buy-side technology provider - and you have a desire to do something more exciting, working with a range of international and varied clients, solving problems, providing solutions etc, then this will definitely be of interest.
This will be working for an established vendor on the cusp of greatness. My client provides quant based solutions to a range of top-tier financial institutions (Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Fund of Funds, Wealth Mangers, Private Banks, Fund Administration providers, Insurance Firms).
Their emphasis is on front and middle office solutions that really meet the current demands of these broad range institutions. They already have a highly prestigious client book and list of reference sites that include the world’s most prestigious FS companies. They now need someone to join who can help them support this established and profitable business.
You will hopefully have a background in Investment Risk, Performance Measurement, Performance Attribution, Fixed Income Attribution, Buy-side Derivatives, Portfolio analytics, Fixed Income Analytics etc so that you can help their client base by utilising your knowledge of the Risk / and / or performance attribution space. You might have worked as a business analyst / risk analyst / attribution analyst / quant / desk analyst - for a fund manager and have a desire to move into the technology space.
You will be at the cutting edge of what is happening in asset management analytics and you will therefore be given exposure to the latest trends when you work closely with their front office client base.
You will need to be highly commercial, technically astute and have a genuine passion for solving client requirements, technology and suggesting best fit solutions based on your knowledge of the industry and this product area.
You must be skilled at developing relationships at a senior level, reviewing system functionality, making informed decisions on bespoke client work, negotiation and advising a prestigious client base on how best to utilise your products and how to calculate their analytical requirements.
You must be a robust and experienced character with long-term career placement on your CV (you will have not moved around too frequently). There is a clear reason for this, this is a real opportunity for the right person, once under their employment you will not want to leave, it has to be a long-term hire.
A background in the business or a background in in the following areas would be desired: Fixed Income Attribution, Duration Analysis, Risk Sensitivity, Volatility, Credit risk, VAR, Investment Risk, Portfolio Construction, Deal Flow Management, Multi-asset class portfolio risk, Quantitative Risk Analytics, Monitoring Stress Testing, What-If Scenarios, Portfolio Monitoring, Portfolio Analytics, Risk Management (Market, Counterparty, Operational, Liquidity, Strategic) Benchmarking, Asset Allocation, Valuation Engines, UCITS, Attribution, Fixed Income Analytics, Fund Pricing and Compliance Reporting, familiarity with UCITS and AIFMD compliance in the context of risk limit monitoring etc….
It is not the depth of your experience we are focussed on, more your ability to pick things up, respond well to training and development and be able to adapt thought processes around different client scenarios (as all asset managers run risk, performance and analytics differently).
This position would suit someone who is looking to work in a meritocracy where they can make a direct impact in a vendor with big UK growth plans and a very healthy balance sheet. You might be boxed in or limited in your current job and want to expand your horizons and experience. This is a ‘zero politics’ environment where achievements are recognized and rewarded. This is an evolving business, your influence and impact is crucial to the long term development of the product and the business that may affect the operating model for many years to come. You will need to possess the gravitas and confidence in your decisions to be trusted by the business owners and their client base.
Prior experience on one of these systems would be helpful; Riskmetrics, Bloomberg AIM, BiSAM B-one, Axioma, Barclays (Bloomberg) Point, Statpro Revolution, MSCI BARRA, SS&C Sylvan etc
IMC, CFA or FRM Certification would be ideal but not essential.
