Team Profile:
Morgan Stanley is seeking a Java Developer to help advance its structuring, primary issuance & trade capture system for Exchange Traded Products. The role involves building, deploying & supporting the system, working as part of a fast-moving IT / quant / trading team.

The role would ideally suit a developer with experience of Exchange Traded Products, Structured Products or other exotics with hands-on experience in Java of developing resilient, scalable message-driven systems comprising pricing logic and quant models. The system both generates and consumes large volumes of data and, as such, a data-science or machine learning background and experience of working with large data sets would be an advantage.

This is an agile, front-office role facing off to a fast growing business and, as such, strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team is essential. The candidate must have strong Java experience and derivatives product knowledge (Structured Products / Exotics / options) while knowledge of KDB or client side C# development would be nice to have



Qualifications:


Required Skills:

  • Core Java knowledge in a UNIX/Linux environment.
  • Exchange Traded Products, Structured Products, Exotics product knowledge
  • Quantitative analysis and/or data science background
  • Track record working in front-office environment with trading and quantitative strategists.


Desired Skills:
  • Experience developing system for automated market making, DMA or algo trading group in liquid markets (equities, FX, liquid rates, etc.)
  • Experience interacting with and writing KDB/Q queries.
  • Experience with Java/GC/Linux OS level debugging/performance tuning.
  • JavaFX GUI development
