Our client, an alternative investment management firm, currently seeks a MI Analyst to be based in their London office.

Our client, an alternative investment management firm, currently seeks a MI Analyst to be based in their London office.

In this role you will be responsible for:
- Preparing management information and MI packs for Executive Committee and Business Managers.
- Partnering with Business Managers to ensure relevant, informative MI and financial analysis is provided as required.
- Preparation of strategic plans, annual budget and regular monthly forecasting throughout the year.
- Ensuring the completeness and accuracy of general ledger entries at the month end for balance sheet and P&L line items of responsibility; including accruals and prepayments.
- Preparation of the annual budget and the development and population of supporting financial models.
- Monthly update of current year rolling forecast.
- Development of monthly financial analysis for specific teams.
- Working with the MI team to deliver profitability analysis for each trading desk.
- Developing and implementing cost allocation processes and accountabilities.
- Working closely with the business and across the finance team to establish an improved framework for cost management and accountability across the organisation.
- To maintain a focus on any opportunities to reduce expenditure, to enhance revenues and to increase efficiency.
- To provide the required finance input and analysis to support trader compensation, business development initiatives and major projects.
- To prepare ad hoc financial analysis for the business as and when required.
- Undertaking financial analysis and research to support new business initiatives and resource allocation decisions.

In order to be considered you will have the following skills and experience:
- An accountancy qualification with revelant MI and financial analysis experience.
- Investment Management/Banking experience is helpful but not a core requirement.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to accurately maintain and manipulate data are important
- The role requires a motivated and highly committed individual who has a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail and a 'right first time approach'.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all staff, from traders and portfolio managers through to operations professionals.
- Ability to analyse and communicate financial information.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a range of competing priorities and projects to tight deadlines.
