Millennium Global is recruiting a Macro/Currency Strategist to join the Portfolio Management Research team.

Its unique discretionary investment approach combines in-depth macroeconomic analysis, to identify the underlying drivers of currency pairs, and continuous monitoring of financial markets for the timing of entering and exiting trades.



The Macro/FX Strategist will contribute to our macroeconomic and currency research and provide support to the discretionary portfolio management team.  Specifically, the Macro/FX Strategist will:

  • Provide timely macro analysis and currency views on a set of developed and/or emerging economies
  • Build the fundamental economic rationale for currency trades under the guidance of the Head of Economics and Strategy
  • Monitor economic data, political events and structural issues for countries under coverage
  • Identify, create and maintain econometric models and macro indicators used to forecast macroeconomic trends, interest rates and currencies
  • Interact with other research analysts, Portfolio Managers and the business development team
  • Participate in daily portfolio management meetings, weekly macro views meeting and quarterly strategy meetings
  • Contribute to monthly or quarterly client reports and research or portfolio analysis notes for investors
  • Participate to meetings or conference calls with investors or prospects



  • A strong academic background in macroeconomics, international economics or development economics, ideally combined with skills in mathematics, statistics or econometrics
  • Working experience in Investment or Fund Management, be it in currencies or other asset classes (emerging market debt, fixed income, credit, equities…)
  • Previous experience in emerging markets would be valuable
  • Ability to analyse economic and financial data under tight deadlines and reach investment conclusions
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and working knowledge of econometric software e.g. Eviews
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability and desire to work within a team structure
