My client, a leading Custodian is currently looking for a Project Manager with a custodian or securities services background and extensive experience within IT Business Change projects. The candidate will be employed on a contract basis in London for a large, long term transformation project.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides updates to the Programme level Deliverables Catalogue
  • Work with offshore IT functions (e.g. Architecture, Quality Assurance) and Client Operations groups (e.g. Client Solutions, Operations) across Europe and Asia to ensure the delivery of projects
  • Manage multiple initiatives throughout the project lifecycle with adherence to consistent internal standards; e.g. PMF/SDLC, End to end requirement process, Small Project Management Framework
  • Apply as Agile approach when needed to accelerate delivery
  • Hands-on Project Management  of all types of projects, mostly of a technical delivery nature
  • IT coordination cross border of medium/large projects where the IT teams are located in a different regions, both internal and external
  • Develops integrated baseline project plans applying estimating models, capturing estimating assumptions. Refines plans and manages performance against them.
  • Manage Projects budget, forecasting, resource planning and allocation
  • Proactively manages the projects plan, ensuring clear definition of tasks, timelines and responsibilities to the delivery team
  • Manages releases and ensures smooth promotion in production. Verify and apply SDLC methodology.
  • Recommends best solutions based on understanding of business issues and technical challenges
  • Provides task based schedule and cost forecasts and assists in assessing risk based provisions.
  • Manages resource onboarding and workload to meet agreed programme / project plans
  • Manages project scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk
  • Determines quality standards and oversees the execution/production of project deliverables and management documents
  • Anticipates operational and some tactical risks and tracks them
  • Management and reporting of project risks and issues across the portfolio of projects
  • Project reporting as required by the project ranking (e.g. Project watch, Steering)
  • Identify and manage cross-stream dependencies across the aggregate view of the projects globally.
  • Manage changes related to project including BAU impact, organisational impacts.
  • Ensure proper support and documentation is in place before going live, and oversee the deployment.
  • Manage dependencies between projects in portfolio, or across streams
  • Promotes innovative or improved methods to get the work done and implements best practices
  • Manages project closure initiatives
  • Manages change request process for their projects, facilitates decision making process

 

Candidate must have:

  • Complex change skills
  • Knowledge of project management control tools and methods
  • Business knowledge acquired through successful Business IT project delivery at another Custodian or Asset Servicing organisation.
  • Exposure to securities trade lifecycle process
  • Exposure to the setup, storage and dissemination of entity static data
  • Business and IT delivery skills
  • Management of IT resources on a matrix basis
