My client a leading global law firm is currently recruiting for a QA specialist to join them on a 12 month contract basis in London. You’ll be joining the Quality Assurance team which sits within Architecture Assurance with a role of assessing risks for project and BAU work, working out how these risks can be mitigated and taking responsibility for ensuring all high and medium risks have an owner and are delivered before the changes / project goes into production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participating in project and agile planning
  • Provides estimates, resourcing plans, the test approach, co-ordination the scripting and execution of tests, analysis of results and preparing reports of findings for key stakeholders and assisting with root cause analysis required for QA and Test sign off.
  • Setting expectations around the content of the requirements documentation. Pushing back when required. Ensuring "sufficient test coverage" based on Acceptance Criteria, as well as Project expectations and limitations.
  • Manages, communicates and proposes mitigations on risk and issues
  • Supporting the onshore & off-shore test teams and project deliverables:
  • Signing-off testing work related to projects, application enhancements, and business as usual (BAU) changes. As a team we aim to deliver adherence to best practices for facilitating and expediting delivery.
  • Assist in the administration, management and continuous rationalization of Test Packs. 
  • Participation and/or ownership of Defect management.
  • Ensuring Test Exit Report have concrete risk analysis based on the Release Candidate, with a forward plan and commitment. The Report must be The Final Document from the Test Team.
  • Ensure all Test Artefacts, including training materials for new hires, are up-to-date. Identify "living, breathing" key documentations and reference materials.
  • Work with the Non-Functional Test Lead to define the approach for the projects and BAU, where applicable. This must be documented in the Test Strategy.

 

Requirements

 

Quality Assurance:

  • Extensive knowledge of quality assurance & quality management standards. 
  • Extensive experience in providing Quality leadership within Agile teams that have successfully delivered software on time and in budget. 
  • Strong commitment to and belief in the value of quality assurance but appreciates that different levels of quality assurance should be applied depending on risk and impact factors
  • Experience leading QA governance involving testing suppliers, and ensuring quality standards are delivered through test methodologies, the framework, and leveraging the latest capabilities in tooling, accommodating both functional and performance testing. 

 

Technical Skills 

  • Practical experience working in Agile projects / testing. Preferably scrum, lean.
  • Experienced in a wide and varied number of test methodologies and types, with the ability to communicate their choice of test approach for any project undertaken. 
  • Experienced in reviewing system architectures to derive test scenarios
  • Experience in reducing application deployment risk
  • Experience using test and defect management tools, for example Loadrunner, HP ALM, JIRA, VSTS. 
  • Experience of industry standard methodologies: ITIL, Prince 2, Waterfall is preferable.
  • Desirable: Experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Desirable experience: Cloud and hybrid infrastructure
  • Desirable experience: CA Agile Central, Microsoft TFS
