Fitch Ratings' Model Development Team is looking for a model developer at the Analyst, Senior Analyst or Associate Director level to help develop, enhance and maintain models used in Fitch's rating analysis, focusing primarily on structured finance and covered bond sectors.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to team up with other talented specialists to design, implement, test and document various models including default and cash flow models. Throughout these projects, you will be able to gain valuable credit modelling experience, a good understanding of credit rating methodology as well as model governance framework and the regulatory environment.
You will be involved in various modelling projects acting as a developer or QA tester. In either role, you will be expected to develop a solid understanding of existing and new models, in terms of both the methodology and implementation. The models in focus will be in C++, Excel/VBA, as well as Python. There may also be potential opportunities to work on model UI/UX projects. Position Requirements:
- Solid quantitative and financial modelling experience in Python with the ability to read and review models in C++
- Experience in VBA, XML or database is a plus
- Ability to solve problems using critical, rational and creative thinking
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly convey technical modelling concepts
- Self-motivation and ability to manage timelines across multiple projects
- Thorough attention to detail
- Strong work ethic
- Bachelor or Master's degree in computer science or other quantitative disciplines
- Previous exposure to credit rating analysis or credit modelling a plus
