Our client is a UK bank looking for a newly qualified accountant with an interest in pursuing a career in regulatory reporting. This role involves the preparation, review and submission of various regulatory returns, primarily COREP, as well as the monthly calculation of key capital ratios for the bank. The regulatory reporting team is responsible for capital, liquidity and Bank of England reporting for the Bank and the group. As such the role holder is expected to show a degree of flexibility and give support to other areas of regulatory reporting such as liquidity as and when required.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting

  • Monthly calculation and analysis of key capital ratios for the Bank
  • Quarterly preparation and analysis of COREP returns for the Bank and the group, including own funds, credit risk, leverage, large exposures and encumbered assets
  • Support preparation of other returns as required, including treasury assets and FSA015
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis as required to enhance understanding of key drivers behind ratios and RWAs

 

Internal Communication

  • Liaison with multiple internal stakeholders to ensure that deadlines are understood and accurate data is provided to ensure the timely production of regulatory returns
  • Respond to ad-hoc questions and data requests from both internal and external stakeholders

 

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure that procedure notes are up to date and any changes to key assumptions and calculations are documented and understood
  • Keep abreast of regulatory changes/developments (e.g. industry guidance/best practices) and implement changes as required

 

Required experience/Knowledge

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA
  • Exposure to financial services, ideally with some exposure to Regulatory reporting
