An opportunity has arisen to join the Analytics team in London as a 1 year fixed term employee, with opportunity to work with a range of team members to build your experience and with the potential for a permanent role within the Origination and Execution team thereafter.

The candidate will work in the Analytics team, within the Origination and Execution team at Cubico. The intern will gain exposure to many elements of the deal process and build up a strong financial modelling skillset

Responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Support the semi-annual valuation and operational modelling requirements of the EMEA portfolio, including updating financial models for the latest assumptions and running sensitivity analysis
  • Support the preparation of financial models for the acquisition and project financing of renewable energy projects based on project-specific characteristics and assumptions
  • Analyse and compare investment opportunities, utilizing discounted cash flow and multiples based analyses
  • Initial quantitative and qualitative appraisal of transactions to establish whether sectors and specific deals are worth pursuing
  • Research the infrastructure and renewables sector with focus on primary transactions
  • Understand and track energy market developments across geographies
  • Assist in the preparation of investment committee presentations for new opportunities

The role requires a proactive, inquisitive and flexible mindset. You will be part of a dynamic young team and will be given a great deal of responsibility.

Desired qualifications and personal attributes include:

  • Strong academic background
  • Relevant experience in Project Finance / Corporate Finance / Accountancy is beneficial
  • Financial modelling experience preferred – proficient in Excel
  • Understanding of financial statements – P&L, cash flow and balance sheet
  • Experience with MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive and flexible
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Practical and commercial approach
  • Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities
  • Team player able to thrive in a cross-cultural environment
