ScalingFunds is Brickblock’s turn-key SaaS solution offering alternative investment fund (AIF) managers an efficient way to raise capital and manage their funds. It reduces unnecessary middlemen from the investment process by connecting fund managers, investors, fund administrators, and distributors through a user-friendly online dashboard.

Real estate, private equity, venture capital, private credit, and other alternative investment managers integrate ScalingFunds into their business to automate investor on-boarding, provide a single source of truth for all parties, communicate with clients, and allow for the trade or transfer of typically illiquid fund shares.

Alternative investment fund managers (AIFMs) with more than €300 billion in assets under administration are using our software to reduce their administrative burden and provide a better user experience.

As our product matures, we are looking for a Business Development Associate to work closely with the Business Development team to support the growth of our business.

Role Responsibilities Include:

  • Work independently to identify leads, qualify them and convert them to accounts
  • Work with the relevant Sales Director to identify opportunities from accounts
  • Independently identify opportunities and move them through the full sales cycle to contract signing
  • Initiate and support client interaction, prepare background information ahead of meetings and prospect queries, and maintain records and mailing lists in our dedicated CRM
  • Build a personal client base via proactive activity
  • Identify and engage with the key decision makers on a professional level
  • Meet mutually agreed quarterly and annual targets
  • Contribute to sales and marketing strategies through market analysis, including trends and sentiment
  • Participate in industry events and utilise your expanding network to develop relationships to contribute to the firm’s visibility in fast-growing markets
  • Maintain and develop the CRM system (Salesforce) to enable better client service
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, updating Product, Business Affairs, and C-Level on client progress and development
  • Play an active role in product and capability development 
  • Must be comfortable working autonomously and asking for support when needed

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Strong interest in fintech, digitalisation, and blockchain
  • A good understanding of illiquid / alternative investments, including Alternative Investment Funds and Closed Ended Funds
  • Experience from a brokerage / corporate adviser would be highly advantageous
  • A strong understanding of fund management and administration processes (AML, KYC, Transfer Agents, etc.)
  • Existing relationships with Family Offices, Private Banks, Asset Managers, or Investment Managers
  • Track record of developing and maintaining on-going relationships with clients
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) with a financial or analytical discipline preferred
  • 3-5 years working in financial services within a business development or sales role
  • An understanding and experience in longer sales cycles (4-10months)
  • Highly personable and confident in talking to a range of sophisticated clients
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Energetic, passionate, determined and committed to the growth of the company
  • Fluent in English with a preference for a secondary language
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
